Wai Lwin
Wai Lwin ( my, ဝေလွင်) is a retired senior Myanmar Army officer, who served as the Minister of Defence from September 2012 to 13 August 2015. He previously served as a military representatives of Yangon Region Hluttaw. He is the Central Executive Committee member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party. Biography Wai Lwin was born on 4 November 1954 in Kyaunggon, Ayeyarwady Region. He graduated in 1976 from the 16th intake of the Defence Services Academy. He served as a former deputy commander of Yangon Region from 2003 to 2006 and as military commander of the Naypyidaw region from May 2006 to July 2012. In July 2012, he was appointed into the Yangon Region Hluttaw to replace Captain Lin Lin Kyaw, becoming the highest-ranked military member serving in a regional parliament. Ayeyarwady Region
Ayeyarwady Region ( my, ဧရာဝတီတိုင်းဒေသကြီး , , ; formerly Ayeyarwady Division and Irrawaddy Division), is a region of Myanmar, occupying the delta region of the Ayeyarwady River (Irrawaddy River). Than Shwe ( my, သန်းရွှေ, ; born 2 February 1933 or 3 May 1935) is a Burmese strongman politician who was the head of state of Myanmar from 1992 to 2011 as Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC). During this period, he held key positions of power including Prime Minister of Myanmar, Commander-in-chief of Myanmar Defense Services and head of the Union Solidarity and Development Association. In March 2011 he officially stepped down as head of state in favour of his hand-picked successor, Thein Sein, and as head of the Armed Forces, being replaced by general Min Aung Hlaing. Yangon Region Hluttaw
Yangon Region Hluttaw ( my, ရန်ကုန်တိုင်းဒေသကြီးလွှတ်တော်) is the legislature of the Burmese region of Yangon Region. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 123 members, including 92 elected members and 31 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Tin Maung Tun of the National League for Democracy (NLD). The regional legislature convenes at the Yangon Region Hluttaw building on Pyay Road in Dagon Township. The building formerly housed the national parliament.
