Wai Lu Kyaw
Wai Lu Kyaw ( my, ဝေဠုကျော်) is a Burmese actor and philanthropists. He won the Myanmar Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2010 with the film ''The Red Sun Above the Ocean'' (). Biography Wai Lu Kyaw was born in Nyaungdon, Irrawaddy Division, Burma, to Tekkatho Nyo Lwin Maung and Tekkatho Nyo Nyo Thein, both are Burma National Literature Award-winning writers who established the Panhlaing Publishing Press. He began his acting career in 1997 as a child actor, starring in the films ''With the Green Valley'' () and ''Hna Lone That Pyint Yin Ya Par The'' (). Wai Lu Kyaw is also active in humanitarian and social relief work. He is a member of Myanmar Red Cross Society. Free Funeral Service Society
The Free Funeral Service Society (Yangon) ( my, နာရေးကူညီမှုအသင်း, abbreviated FFSS), a civil society organisation based on Yangon, Myanmar, founded by Burmese film director Thukha, provides free funeral services to people from any religion, race and socioeconomic status at no cost in Yangon Region. It was founded on 1 January 2001 by film director Thukha and is headed by many prominent persons in the entertainment industry, including actor Kyaw Thu. FFSS has helped fund around 200,000 funerals since it first started. In 2006, FFSS opened a free health care clinic called Thukha Clinic. In 2009, its free clinic was ordered by a local court to be closed, after being forcibly relocated from Thingangyun Township to North Dagon Township in Yangon's outlying suburbs. Kyaw Thu ( my, ကျော်သူ, ; born 2 November 1959) is a two-time Myanmar Academy Award winning film actor and film director. One of the top leading men of Burmese cinema in the 1980s and 1990s, Kyaw Thu has starred in over 200 films and has directed several successful films. Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) was founded in 1937 and it was earlier called Burma Red Cross. It has its headquarters in Yangon. History In 1920, the Society came into existence as a branch of Indian Red Cross Society. When Burma was politically separated from India in 1937, it attained national status and was recognised as Burma Red Cross Society. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) recognised it as a National Society in 1939.
