The five British Railways :de:Waggon- und Maschinenbau GmbH Donauwörth, Waggon und Maschinenbau British Rail railbuses#First generation, railbuses were delivered in April 1958. They were based at Cambridge railway station#Main Shed, Cambridge until 1964. They were withdrawn in 1966 and 1967. Four are preserved. Background The WMD railbuses were 5 of the total of 22 delivered in 1958 from five manufacturers (the rest British). They were planned to have "extensive trials". The underframe, power equipment, transmission and brake gear were similar to the Uerdingen railbus, common on the Deutsche Bundesbahn, German Federal Railway. They were shipped via the London and North Eastern Railway#Ships, Harwich-Zeebrugge train ferry. The East Anglian Railway Museum is located at Chappel and Wakes Colne railway station in Essex, England, which is situated on the former Great Eastern Railway branch line from Marks Tey to Sudbury. Services on the Sudbury Branch Line are operated by Abellio Greater Anglia. The museum has a wide collection of locomotives and rolling stock, some of which are fully restored, three are converted into Thomas, Percy and Toby replicas while others are undergoing repair and restoration. The Restoration Shed was built in 1983–4, before which most work had to take place in the Goods Shed or in the open. On event days, steam or diesel train rides are operated over a short demonstration track. Museum Of Rail Travel
The Museum of Rail Travel at Ingrow, England is operated by the Vintage Carriages Trust (VCT), a charity based just north of Ingrow (West) railway station on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire. Founded in 1965, it became a registered charity in 1981 and opened in 1990. The Trust has provided railway carriages for over 70 films and television programmes. Two of the steam locomotives owned by VCT - "Sir Berkeley" and "Bellerophon" have visited railways in the Netherlands. "Bellerophon" has also visited Belgium. "Sir Berkeley" is on loan to the Middleton Railway, Leeds. A third locomotive, Lord Mayor, an 0-4-0 saddle tank steam locomotive is on static display in the museum. Llangollen Railway
The Llangollen Railway () is a volunteer-run heritage railway in Denbighshire, North Wales, which operates between Llangollen and Corwen. The standard gauge line, which is long, runs on part of the former Ruabon – Barmouth GWR route that closed in 1965. Ribble Steam Railway
The Ribble Steam Railway is a standard gauge Heritage railway, preserved railway in Lancashire, in the United Kingdom. It was opened to the public on 17 September 2005, running along Preston, Lancashire, Preston Docks. The railway began by housing much of the collection from the previously closed Southport Railway Museum (Steamport), which was based in the old Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway engine shed at Southport (BR shed code 27C).
