Wadsworth High School
Wadsworth High School is a public high school for grades 9 through 12 in Wadsworth, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Wadsworth City School District. The school colors are officially red and white. The school mascot is the grizzly bear, and the sports teams are nicknamed the Grizzlies. The current building opened in 2012 and the student body population is approximately 1,700 students. It serves over 4,000 students in grades K through 12 living in Wadsworth, Wadsworth Township, and portions of neighboring Guilford, Montville, and Sharon Townships. Michael Foreman (astronaut)
Michael James Foreman (born March 29, 1957) is a retired U.S. Navy pilot and a NASA astronaut. While with NASA, Foreman was part of a mission that delivered the Japanese Experiment Module and the Canadian Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator to the International Space Station. Foreman was also a crewmember of the STS-129 mission in November 2009. In 2018, he was elected mayor of Friendswood, Texas; he was re-elected to a second 3-year term in 2021. Scott Brian Fletcher (born July 30, 1958), is a former professional baseball player who played shortstop and second base in Major League Baseball from 1981 to 1995. Fletcher is related to Michael Barrett, who also played for the Chicago Cubs. Fletcher graduated from Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio in 1976. Playing career Fletcher was signed by the Chicago Cubs in the 1979 amateur draft and made his major league debut with the team in 1981. Savannah Brown
Savannah Brown (born 21 July 1996) is an American-British poet and author. Early life Brown was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She credits the poems of Edgar Allan Poe and her eleventh grade English teacher for cultivating her interest in poetry. She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 2014 then shortly after moved to London. Career Brown gained prominence after videos of her performing original poems, one exploring the topic of self-love and another about female sexuality, went viral. At age 19, Brown self-published a collection of poetry titled ''Graffiti (and other poems)'' which was a finalist in the Goodreads Choice Awards.
