Wade Regier
Wade Regier (born March 16, 1983) is a Canadian former ice hockey player, who served as the head coach of the Minot State Beavers men's ice hockey of the ACHA Division 1 from 2010 to 2021. He was named ACHA Coach-of-the-Year in 2013 and 2017 Playing career Before coaching at Minot State University, Regier played three seasons with the Saskatoon Chiefs of the North Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey League The now defunct North Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey League (NSJHL) was an independent, successful Junior "B" ice hockey league in Saskatchewan, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. In ice hockey, two opposing teams use ice hockey sticks to control, advance and shoot a closed, vulcanized, rubber disc called a " puck" into the other team's goal. Each goal is worth one point. Minot State Beavers Men's Ice Hockey
The Minot State Beavers men's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that represents Minot State University. The team competes in the ACHA Division I level as an independent team. The team hosted the ACHA national tournament at All Seasons Arena in 2000. Prior to 1984, the team was part of the NAIA, before the NAIA dropped ice hockey as part of their program. The team's head coach is Wyatt Waselenchuk. History 2012–2013 Freshmen Cody Hall, Brett Nespor, Bob Pond, Dallas Drysdale, Brody Haygarth, Ryan Curzon and Sam Benson joined the team in 2012. Transfers William Kinsman and Jordan Willert also joined the team in 2012. Defenseman, Kyle Stephens, returned to the team in 2012, after playing a year with the El Paso Rhinos. American Collegiate Hockey Association
The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) is a college ice hockey association. The ACHA's purpose is to be an organization of collegiate affiliated non-varsity programs, which provides structure, regulates operations, and promotes quality in collegiate ice hockey. The ACHA currently has three men's and two women's divisions and includes approximately 450 teams from across the United States. Teams offer few athletic scholarships and typically receive far less university funding. The ACHA offers an opportunity for college hockey programs that struggle with large budgets and Title IX issues, as an alternative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) financial structure. Minot State University (MSU or MiSU) is a public university in Minot, North Dakota. Founded in 1913 as a normal school, Minot State University is the third-largest university in North Dakota, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs. North Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey League
The now defunct North Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey League (NSJHL) was an independent, successful Junior "B" ice hockey league in Saskatchewan, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. The league comprised teams from cities and towns such as Saskatoon and Melfort, situated in the northern part of the province of Saskatchewan. Conversely, a second Junior "B" league, the South Saskatchewan (SSJHL) included teams which were located in towns primarily in the southern part of Saskatchewan, such as Regina, Weyburn and Melville. Players who played at the Junior "B" level were approximately 14-20 years old, and Junior "B" was considered the entry level and a "feeder league" into Junior Hockey in Canada (except where Junior "C" or "D" teams existed).
