Wade Building
The Wade Building is a historic commercial building located at 231 Central Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Description and history It is a four-story masonry structure, built out of brick, with a dressed stone facade. The ground floor has a commercial storefront, with recessed entrance and plate glass windows sheltered by an awning. The upper floors' bays have windows that decrease in size and level of decoration, with a modillioned cornice and balustraded parapet at the top. The building was designed by the firm of Thompson, Sanders & Ginocchio, and is a well-proportioned example of Classical Revival architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 22, 1982. Hot Springs, Arkansas
Hot Springs is a resort city in the state of Arkansas and the county seat of Garland County. The city is located in the Ouachita Mountains among the U.S. Interior Highlands, and is set among several natural hot springs for which the city is named. As of the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 37,930. The center of Hot Springs is the oldest federal reserve in the United States, today preserved as Hot Springs National Park. The hot spring water has been popularly believed for centuries to possess healing properties, and was a subject of legend among several Native American tribes. Following federal protection in 1832, the city developed into a successful spa town.
