Wabma Kadarbu Mound Springs Conservation Park
Wabma Kadarbu Mound Springs Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia. It is located in Stuarts Creek, about north of the town of Marree via the Oodnadatta Track in the state's Far North. The conservation park was proclaimed under the ''National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972'' in 1996. As of 2012, it is subject to a co-management agreement between the Arabana aboriginal people and the Department for Environment and Water. The name of the conservation park is derived from the Arabana language name used for the local feature also known as Hamilton Hill (also as Mount Hamilton) meaning "snake's head" in reference to the profile of Hamilton Hill. The conservation park protects both a network of mound springs that upwell from the Great Artesian Basin and the "ruins of a fettler’s cottage at the old Margaret Rail Siding." Stuarts Creek, South Australia
Stuarts Creek is a remote locality in the Australian state of South Australia in the states's Far North region. The name and boundaries were formalised on 26 April 2013, named after Stuart Creek Station, in respect of the long established local name. It includes the former settlement of Coward Springs. The Wabma Kadarbu Mound Springs Conservation Park lies in the north-west of the locality. The Central Australia Railway (often referred to as the "Old Ghan") ran through Stuarts Creek, with former stations or sidings at Coward Springs, Margaret, and Stuart Creek (later Curdimurka) all within its current boundaries. The railway remnants at Coward Springs and Curdimurka are both listed on the South Australian Heritage Register. The 2016 Australian census which was conducted in August 2016 reports that Stuarts Creek had no people living within its boundaries. Coward Springs
Coward Springs is a former railway station of the Central Australia Railway and associated settlement in the Far North region of South Australia, west of Lake Eyre South. The name refers to a nearby mound spring, situated on the Oodnadatta Track adjacent to the Wabma Kadarbu Mound Springs Conservation Park. The site is within the locality of Stuarts Creek, 236 km (147 mi) from Coober Pedy and 216 km (134 mi) from Coober Pedy. A camping ground is at the site, where the attractions include two heritage-listed buildings, the original bore, date palms and tamarisk trees. Paroo-Darling National Park
The Paroo-Darling National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Far West region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The national park spans two distinct regions in the outback area. This region covers the arid catchments of the Paroo River (Peery and Poloko Lakes) and the Paroo- Darling confluence to the south. Arabana People
The Arabana, also known as the Ngarabana, are an Aboriginal Australian people of South Australia. Name The older tribal autonym was Ngarabana, which may have been misheard by white settlers as Arabana, the term now generally accepted by new generations of the Ngarabana. Language Arabana, like Wangganguru with which it shares a 90% overlap in vocabulary, is a member of the Karnic subgroup of the Pama-Nyungan language.
