Wabash River Conference
The Wabash River Conference is an eight-member Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA)-sanctioned conference located within Fountain, Parke, Vermillion, and Warren Counties in West Central Indiana. All of the participating schools are either 1A, 2A, or 3A (South Vermillion) institutions in rural counties. The conference began in 1964 with nine schools who had outgrown their county conferences or had them fold, and has had that number stay relatively consistent since. The only change since was the consolidation of two members, Turkey Run and Rockville, into Parke Heritage High School in 2018 reducing the number of members to 8. Vermillion County lies in the western part of the U.S. state of Indiana between the Illinois border and the Wabash River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,212. The county seat is Newport. New Richmond is a town in Coal Creek Township, Montgomery County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 309 at the 2020 census. History New Richmond was platted by Samuel Kincaid in 1836. North Montgomery High School
North Montgomery High School is a public high school located in unincorporated Montgomery County, Indiana, near Crawfordsville. It is a part of the North Montgomery School Corporation. It is the only high school in the district, and it serves some sections of northern Crawfordsville, Darlington, Linden, New Richmond, Waynetown, and Wingate. It also serves the unincorporated area of Garfield. As of 2022, the school had 549 students and boasted a student/teacher ratio of 12.9. Western Indiana Conference
The Western Indiana Conference is the name of two IHSAA-sanctioned conferences based in West Central Indiana. The first formed as an eight-team league that formed as a basketball league in 1944 as the West Central Conference. The league started expanding in 1945 and changed its name to the Western Indiana Conference. With consolidation forcing many membership changes in the 1970s (including all the Terre Haute public schools), the conference folded at four members in 1983. The second incarnation started in 1999, including four previous members (or their current incarnations) from the old conference, and three other schools from South Central Indiana. Its only change in membership in its first 16 years was in football, where South Vermilion played independently for the 2007 and 2008 seasons before rejoining the conference. South Vermillion High School
South Vermillion High School is a public high school in Clinton, Indiana serving students in grades 9 through 12. It was created in 1977 as the building replaced Clinton High School. As of 2017, the school has an enrollment of approximately 546 students. SVHS is one of two high schools in Vermillion County (the other being North Vermillion High School in Cayuga). West Lebanon, Indiana
West Lebanon is a town in Pike Township, Warren County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 723 at the 2010 census. History West Lebanon was laid out and platted in the fall of 1830 by Ebenezer Purviance, John G. Jemison and Andrew Fleming, and consisted of 64 lots. Originally named Lebanon, the name was changed to West Lebanon in 1869 when the town was incorporated, possibly in deference to the Boone County community of the same name which established its post office on December 15, 1832, just eleven days before their own. Not being close to any waterways, West Lebanon's early growth was relatively slow and for many years had no more than 20 families. However, with the completion of the Wabash Railroad line one mile north of town in 1856, the community's fortunes improved and led to most of the town relocating closer to the station. Seeger Memorial Junior-Senior High School
Seeger Memorial Junior-Senior High School is the single high school and middle school serving Warren County, Indiana, and is located a mile and a half north of the town of West Lebanon. It is administered by the Metropolitan School District of Warren County in Williamsport. History Seeger High School was established in 1957 through a $250,000 donation from local grain dealer and broker Ura Seeger; classes began in the fall of 1959. The school's original mascot was the Indian, and its colors red and grey, but in 1973 due to the consolidation of Pine Village, Williamsport, and Seeger High Schools, the mascot was changed to the Patriot and the colors to red, white and blue. Montezuma is a town in Reserve Township, Parke County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 1,022 at the 2010 census.
