WXDC (92.9 FM) is a country music formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, serving Berkeley Springs in West Virginia and Hancock in Maryland. WXDC is owned John and David Raese's West Virginia Radio Corporation, through licensee West Virginia Radio Corporation of the Alleghenies. West Virginia Media Corporation began operating WXDC and sister-station WCST on May 1, 2019, as they begin the process of buying the two stations from Metro Radio, Inc. History The station came on the air as WCST-FM in 1965, but later changed to WDHC with the "Down Home County" branding in 1996. WDHC was originally on 93.5 FM and moved to 92.9 FM in 2005 with a taller tower and twice the original size and double the original power of 93.5. West Virginia MetroNews is a radio network heard on many radio stations throughout the State of West Virginia. The network is owned by the West Virginia Radio Corporation. West Virginia MetroNews offers a mix of news and talk. It held the rights to live play-by-play coverage of West Virginia University Mountaineers sports games, which it marketed under the DBA name "Mountaineer Sports Network", but lost these rights following the end of the 2012/13 basketball season. Morgan County is a county located in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 17,063. Its county seat is Berkeley Springs. The county was formed in 1820 from parts of Hampshire and Berkeley Counties and named in honor of General Daniel Morgan, prominent soldier of the American Revolutionary War. Berkeley Springs is a town in, and the county seat of, Morgan County, West Virginia, United States, in the state's Eastern Panhandle. "Berkeley Springs" is also commonly used to refer to the area in and around the Town of Bath. In 1776, the Virginia Legislature incorporated a town around the springs and named it Bath.
