WVLF (96.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a mix of adult contemporary and hot adult contemporary format. Licensed to Norwood, New York, United States, the station is currently owned by Stephens Media Group. The station was previously owned by Martz Communications Group, and was acquired by Stephens as of February 1, 2008. Following a weekend of a repeating loop of announcements airing the weekend of July 6, 2008, WVLF became "The Valley's New Mix 96.1," beginning at 6AM on Monday, July 7, 2008. The station now airs a Bright Adult Contemporary format covering St. Lawrence county (NY), and Cornwall, ON including the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. Massena is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. Stephens Media Group is an Oklahoma based radio broadcaster that owns 75 radio stations particularly in small to mid-size markets. Its flagship stations are at its headquarters in Tulsa. Stephens refers to itself as "A portfolio of People", referencing the team members who work for the company. History Stephens Media started with stations around Tulsa, Oklahoma, before expanding to small markets outside of there. Martz Communications Group is an American radio broadcasting company, which operates three radio stations in the St. Lawrence River area of New York and one in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company, which also operates under the names Radio Power and Cartier Communications, is co-based in Parishville, New York and San Francisco, California; with auxiliary offices in Reno, Nevada; Burlington, Vermont; and Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Norwood, New York
Norwood is a village located in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the village had a total population of 1560. The village is located partly in two towns, Potsdam and of Norfolk, and located is east of the village of Potsdam. History The community was known early in its history as "Raquetteville." Norwood as it is known today, grew out of the shadows of Potsdam, New York in the 1870s. In 1871 this growing Potsdam hamlet became the village of Potsdam Junction.
