WTKA
WTKA (1050 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Ann Arbor, Michigan, known as "The Ticket." It broadcasts a sports radio format and is owned by Cumulus Media. The studios and offices are on Victors Way in Ann Arbor. By day, WTKA is powered at 5,000 watts, covering most of southeast Michigan. But 1050 AM is a Mexican clear channel frequency reserved for XEG in Monterrey. So at night, to avoid interference, WTKA reduces power to 500 watts. It uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is on Stoney Creek Road in York Charter Township, Michigan. The Detroit Tigers Radio Network is an American radio network composed of 49 radio stations which carry English-language coverage of the Detroit Tigers, a professional baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB). Detroit's WXYT-FM (97.1 FM) serves as the network's flagship. WLBY (1290 AM) is a broadcast radio station in the United States. Licensed to Saline, Michigan, with offices in nearby Ann Arbor, the station has a talk format and serves surrounding Washtenaw County. WLBY is owned by Cumulus Broadcasting along with three other stations based in Ann Arbor. The station first signed on in 1958 as WOIA and had music formats for much of its history, as late as the 2000s. After nearly four decades as a music station, in 1996 the station changed to a Catholic format leased by Domino's Pizza founder Tom Monaghan. WQKL (107.1 FM), known on the air as ann arbor's 107one, is a commercial radio station in Ann Arbor, Michigan. WQKL is owned by Cumulus Media, airing an adult album alternative/alternative rock radio format. WQKL has its studios at the south area of Ann Arbor near Briarwood Mall, and broadcasts its signal from a 3,000 watt transmitter atop Tower Plaza in the city’s downtown. A tower array is an arrangement of multiple radio towers which are mast radiators in a phased array. They were originally developed as ground-based tracking radars. Tower arrays can consist of free-standing or guyed towers or a mix of them. Tower arrays are used to constitute a directional antenna of a mediumwave or longwave radio station.
