WSWR (100.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format as "My 100.1." Licensed to Shelby, Ohio, WSWR serves the Mid-Ohio area. The station is owned by iHeartMedia. WSWR originated as a stand-alone signal targeting the Mansfield/Ashland area as "Crusin' 100," airing an oldies format before segueing to classic hits as "My 100.1." From January 2010 until December 26, 2011, the station was simulcast on WXXR (which previously simulcast WFXN-FM) as "My 100.1/98.3", before dropping their classic hits format in favor of a simulcast of WMAN, with both stations taking the WMAN-FM and WWMM calls, respectively. Shelby, Ohio
Shelby is a city in Richland County in the U.S. state of Ohio, northwest of the city of Mansfield. It is part of the Mansfield, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 9,317 as of the 2010 census. History Shelby was originally called Gamble's Mills, and under the latter name was platted in 1834. On April 14, 2019, Shelby was struck by a long tracked EF2 Tornado with winds of 120-125 MPH. At its peak, the tornado was a half mile wide. The tornado damaged more than half a dozen homes, as well as a car dealership on the south of side of Shelby. Geography Shelby is located at (40.884645, -82.659529), along the Black Fork of the Mohican River. History The station signed on October 18, 1962 as a sister to now defunct 1140 AM WCLW located at 791 McPherson Street in Mansfield, Ohio and owned by Mansfield Broadcasting Inc owned by Frederick Eckardt. Simulcasting 100% of the AM station 105.3 aired a Mainstream Rock/Pop format that was a first in the area. Mansfield is a city in and the county seat of Richland County, Ohio, United States.
