War Refugee Board
The War Refugee Board, established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in January 1944, was a U.S. executive agency to aid civilian victims of the Axis powers. The Board was, in the words of historian Rebecca Erbelding, "the only time in American history that the US government founded a non-military government agency to save the lives of civilians being murdered by a wartime enemy." There was increasing and persistent significant publicity and pressure on the Roosevelt administration to help the abandoned Jews of Europe. The campaign was led by the Bergson Group led by Hillel Kook (aka Peter Bergson). World Reference Base For Soil Resources
The World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB) is an international soil classification system for naming soils and creating legends for soil maps. The currently valid version is the fourth edition 2022. It is edited by a working group of the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS). During the 20th century, the need for an international soil classification system became more and more obvious. Wood River Refinery
The Wood River Refinery is an oil refinery located in Roxana, Illinois, approximately north of St. Louis, Missouri, on the east side of the Mississippi River. The refinery is currently owned by Phillips 66 and Cenovus Energy and operated by the joint-venture company WRB Refining, LLC (WRB). WRB was formed on 1 July 2007, with Encana taking a 49% interest in Wood River and also Phillips 66's Borger refinery. Encana subsequently spun off oil sands producer Cenovus and ConocoPhillips spun off Phillips 66. In return for a 49% stake in the refinery, ConocoPhillips gained a joint interest in two Alberta oil sands (bitumen) heavy oil projects: Christina Lake (Alberta) and Foster Creek. The Brown University Standard Corpus of Present-Day American English (or just Brown Corpus) is an electronic collection of text samples of American English, the first major structured corpus of varied genres. This corpus first set the bar for the scientific study of the frequency and distribution of word categories in everyday language use. Compiled by Henry Kučera and W. Nelson Francis at Brown University, in Rhode Island, it is a general language corpus containing 500 samples of English, totaling roughly one million words, compiled from works published in the United States in 1961. Robins Air Force Base is a major United States Air Force installation located in Houston County, Georgia, United States. Warluwarra Language
Warluwarra is an extinct Australian Aboriginal language of Queensland. Waluwarra (also known as ''Warluwarra'', ''Walugara'', and ''Walukara'') has a traditional language region in the local government area of Shire of Boulia, including Walgra Station and Wolga, from Roxborough Downs north to Carandotta Station and Urandangi on the Georgina River, on Moonah Creek to Rochedale, south-east of Pituri Creek. Classification R. M. W. Dixon (2002) places Warluwara in the Southern Ngarna subgroup, along with Wagaya, Yindjilandji, and Bularnu. This is in turn related to Yanyuwa. Wrabness Railway Station
Wrabness railway station is on the Mayflower Line, a branch of the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of England, serving the village of Wrabness, Essex. It is down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between to the west and station to the east. Its three-letter station code is WRB. The station is currently managed by Abellio Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains serving the station. History The station opened in 1854. Platform 1 (London bound) and platform 2 (Harwich bound) have an operational length for four-coach trains. There were formerly sidings at the west (London) end of both the "up" and "down" lines. Those on the up side were used for local goods work, coal being one of the commodities handled.
