WPI Engineers
The WPI Engineers are the athletic teams of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The school sponsors 20 varsity sports. WPI teams participate as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III. The Engineers are a member of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, rowing, soccer, swimming & diving, track & field and wrestling; women's sports include basketball, cross country, field hockey, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, track & field and volleyball. Sports Sponsered Men's sports Baseball The sport of baseball was played at the intercollegiate level on and off during the 1880s to the 1900s. New England Baseball Complex
The New England Baseball Complex (NEBC) is a 30-acre baseball complex in Northborough, Massachusetts owned by the New England Baseball Enterprises. The complex is home to the New England Ruffnecks. In the NEBC's opening season, multiple colleges including Boston College Eagles against NC State Wolfpack in an Atlantic Coast Conference two game series. Other schools include Connecticut Huskies, WPI Engineers and Holy Cross Crusaders. Youth tournaments for ages 10 through 18 are held at the New England Baseball Complex quite often. Worcester ( , ) is a city and county seat of Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. Basketball

Baseball
Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. The game occurs over the course of several plays, with each play generally beginning when a player on the fielding team, called the pitcher, throws a ball that a player on the batting team, called the batter, tries to hit with a bat. The objective of the offensive team (batting team) is to hit the ball into the field of play, away from the other team's players, allowing its players to run the bases, having them advance counter-clockwise around four bases to score what are called " runs". WPI Engineers Football
The WPI Engineers football team represents Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the sport of American football. The Engineers compete in Division III (DIII) of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the NEWMAC. WPI's football program is one of the oldest in the country. The team has been coached by Chris Robertson since the 2010 season. WPI plays its home games at Alumni Stadium, located on the campus in Worcester, Massachusetts, with a capacity of 2,000. Alumni Stadium (WPI)
Alumni Stadium is a football and all-purpose stadium located on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. It is the home field of the WPI Engineers football team of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). The present seating capacity of the stadium is 2,000. Opened in 1914, it was named Alumni Stadium in honor of all the alumni who funded its construction. History The Class of 1886 started the efforts to raise funds for both a field and gymnasium at the 1911 Alumni Council meeting. The goal of $200,000 ($ in dollars) for the building of both a field ($25,000) and a gymnasium ($100,000) was reached in June 1913. National Collegiate Athletic Association
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It also organizes the athletic programs of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and helps over 500,000 college student athletes who compete annually in college sports.
