WMLM (1520 AM) is a radio station located in St. Louis, Michigan, broadcasting Citadel Media's satellite-delivered Real Country format, a hybrid of classic and current country hits. WMLM mainly broadcasts to the north along the US-127 corridor, and is one of four radio stations to broadcast from Gratiot County. 1520 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency; WWKB in Buffalo, New York and KOKC in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma share Class A status on this frequency. History WMLM began broadcasting in 1977 as a daytime-only station and added nighttime operations in 1982. The station originally broadcast from downtown St. Louis on 1540 kHz, moving south of the city in 1983 to its current location on State Road. Real Country is a 24-hour radio format produced by Westwood One. Real Country is marketed at the demographic of men aged 35 to 64. Its programming consists of a fairly broad playlist of "Today's Stars and the Legends." KOKC (1520 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is locally owned by the Tyler Media Group and airs a Talk radio format. The studios and offices are located on East Britton Road in Northeast Oklahoma City. It is central Oklahoma's primary entry point station for the Emergency Alert System. The transmitter site is off Southwest 4th Street in Moore, Oklahoma. KOKC is a Class A clear channel station, broadcasting at the maximum U.S. AM station power of 50,000 watts. By day, the signal is non-directional. But at night, to protect WWKB Buffalo, New York, the other Class A station on AM 1520, KOKC must use a directional antenna. With a good radio, KOKC can be heard across much of the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain states at night. The Michigan Farm Radio Network (MFRN) is a radio network that provides specialty programming geared toward farmers in Michigan. It is owned by Learfield Communications and is a sisters with the Michigan Radio Network. The network began broadcasting from Howard Heath's farm house basement in 1970. Heath was the first recipient of Michigan Farm Bureau's "Agriculture Communicator of the Year Award" in 1975. He died in 1979. Robert T.
