WLXN (1440 AM broadcasting, AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Southern gospel format. Licensed to Lexington, North Carolina, US, it serves the Piedmont Triad area. The station is currently owned by Davidson County Broadcasting. Its programming is also simulcast on Broadcast translator, translators, W260BG (99.9 FM broadcasting, FM) and W291DD (106.1 FM). History Originally, this station was called WBUY. In 1984, when co-owned WWLV, WLXN-FM became WKOQ, the AM became WLXN and played Southern gospel and later soft adult contemporary music; then WLXN changed to Talk radio, news/talk. In 2010, several months after co-owned Majic 94.1 dropped oldies, that station's web site announced oldies were returning, on WLXN. The change took place on February 28, 2011. On November 19, 2014, WLXN rebranded as "Majic 99.9". The station has also switched from Classic Hits/Pop, Kool Gold to Tom Kent's 24/7 FUN. WWLV
WWLV (94.1 FM) is a radio station licensed to Lexington, North Carolina, and serving the Piedmont Triad metropolitan area. The station is an affiliate of K-LOVE. History 94.1 began in the early 1940s as WBUY-FM by Davidson County Broadcasting as a simulcast partner of their AM station WBUY at 1440 on the dial. By the early-1970s separate calls of WLXN were acquired for the FM station but it remained simulcast with WBUY until 1976, when the station would break away from the simulcast at certain times during the day to air Christian programming. WLXN's programming had become largely separate from that of WBUY by late 1983. On January 1, 1984, the Christian programming and WLXN call letters were transferred to the AM station and the WBUY call letters came to the FM, which then initiated a country music format. Air1 is an American Christian radio network. Owned by the Educational Media Foundation (EMF), it primarily broadcasts contemporary worship music, and is a sister to the EMF's K-Love network. History In 1986, KLRD began broadcasting Christian Hit/Rock music from Yucaipa, California, and went by the on-air moniker K-LORD. In 1994, KXRD was started as a sister station to KLRD. ''The Dispatch'' is an American, English language daily newspaper published in Lexington, North Carolina. The newspaper is published Tuesday through Saturday with no Sunday or Monday editions. History ''The Dispatch'' began publication in 1902, succeeding the weekly ''Davidson Dispatch'' (1882–1902), founded by T.B. Eldridge. The paper increased to semi-weekly publication in 1919 and to a six-day-a-week schedule on September 6, 1948. On September 1, 2008 the publication eliminated its Monday edition and was published only five days.
