WLAY-FM (100.1 MHz, "Shoals Country") is a radio station licensed to serve Littleville, Alabama, United States. The station is owned by Mike Self and Parker Griffith, through licensee Singing River Media Group, LLC WLAY-FM broadcasts a country music format to the greater Florence/ Muscle Shoals, Alabama, area. Programming includes the syndicated '' Rick and Bubba Show'' in the morning, mid-days with Kelli Karlson, afternoons with Kevin Whorton and nights with Whitney Allen. The current Program and Music Director for the radio station is Brian Rickman. History The Federal Communications Commission issued the original construction permit for a new FM station in Russellville, Alabama, to broadcast with 3,000 watts of effective radiated power at 97.7 MHz on March 10, 1986. The new station was assigned the call letters WZMX by the FCC on June 6, 1986. WLAY (AM)
WLAY is a radio station serving the Florence/Muscle Shoals, Alabama, market and was heard at 1450 AM and on a translator at 104.7 on the FM band; it is licensed to the city of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. WLAY is owned by Mike Self, through licensee Singing River Media Group, LLC. WLAY is one of the oldest broadcast radio stations in Alabama and the Southern United States. It presently airs only music written and recorded in Muscle Shoals. In addition, the station broadcasts live concerts in the area and highlights area charitable events. Its program/music director and curator is Brian Rickman. WLAY ceased transmitting in December 2014. WMSR-FM (94.9 MHz) is a radio station licensed to Collinwood, Tennessee. It is part of the Florence/ Muscle Shoals, Alabama, radio market and is owned by Mike Self and Parker Griffith through licensee Singing River Media Group, LLC. Florence is a city in, and the county seat of, Lauderdale County, Alabama, United States, in the state's northwestern corner.
