The radio studios and offices are located in downtown Toledo at Superior and Lafayette Streets. By day, WSPD is powered at 5,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna. But to avoid interfering with other stations on 1370 AM, at night it switches to a directional signal with a three-tower array. HD Radio (HDR) is a trademark for an in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital radio broadcast technology. It generally simulcasts an existing analog radio station in digital format with less noise and with additional text information. HD Radio is used primarily by AM and FM radio stations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with a few implementations outside North America. The term "on channel" is a misnomer because the system actually broadcasts on the ordinarily unused channels adjacent to an existing radio station's allocation.
