WIMG (1300 AM broadcasting, AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Gospel music format. Licensed to Ewing, New Jersey, the station is currently owned by Morris Broadcasting Company of New Jersey, Inc. History WIMG is the oldest radio station in New Jersey. On December 1, 1921, the U.S. Department of Commerce, which regulated radio at this time, adopted the first regulations formally establishing a broadcasting station category, which set aside the wavelength of 360 meters (833 kHz) for entertainment broadcasts, and 485 meters (619 kHz) for market and weather reports. The station was originally licensed to the 360 "entertaimment" wavelength on December 4, 1922, as WOAX, to Franklyn J. Wolff (Monument Pottery Company) in Trenton. WEMG (1310 AM, "Mega 105.7") is a commercial AM radio station licensed to serve Camden, New Jersey. The station is owned by Mega-Philadelphia LLC and airs a Spanish Hits format. History The station was originally owned by the City of Camden and in 1924 was assigned the WCAM call sign. In the 1940s the station shared time on its frequency with WTNJ in Trenton and WCAP in Asbury Park; an agreement implemented in 1949 ended the time-share and allowed WCAM to become a full-time station, although with lower power than it had previously used. WCAM broadcast a variety of formats over the years. From September 1965 to April 1966 it was the Philadelphia-area affiliate of the NBC Radio Network, and it was the radio flagship of the Philadelphia Flyers in the team's second season, 1968–69. North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement
The North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement (NARBA, es, Convenio Regional Norteamericano de Radiodifusión) refers to a series of international treaties that defined technical standards for AM band (mediumwave) radio stations. These agreements also addressed how frequency assignments were distributed among the signatories, with a special emphasis on high-powered clear channel allocations. The initial NARBA bandplan, also known as the "Havana Treaty", was signed by the United States, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti on December 13, 1937, and took effect March 29, 1941. A series of modifications and adjustments followed, also under the NARBA name. Christian Science is a set of beliefs and practices associated with members of the Church of Christ, Scientist. Adherents are commonly known as Christian Scientists or students of Christian Science, and the church is sometimes informally known as the Christian Science church. WEVD
WEVD was an American brokered programming radio station with some news-talk launched in August 1927 by the Socialist Party of America. Making use of the initials of recently deceased party leader Eugene Victor Debs in its call sign, the station operated from Woodhaven in the New York City borough of Queens. The station was purchased with a $250,000 radio fund raised by the Socialist Party in its largest fundraising effort of the 1920s and was intended to spread progressive ideas to a mass audience. A number of national trade unions and other institutions aided the Socialists in obtaining the station.
