WHTX (1570 AM) – branded ''AM 1570 WHTX'' – is a commercial News Talk radio station licensed to serve Warren, Ohio. Owned by Sagittarius Communications, LLC., the station covers the Youngstown metropolitan area and much of the Mahoning Valley. Warren is a city in and the county seat of Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. Located in northeastern Ohio, Warren lies approximately northwest of Youngstown and southeast of Cleveland. The population was 39,201 at the 2020 census. The historical county seat of the Connecticut Western Reserve, it is the second largest city in the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area, and anchors the northern part of that area. WJET (1400 kHz) branded as Jet Radio 1400 is a commercial AM radio station in Erie, Pennsylvania. It broadcasts a talk radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. WJET's studios are in the Boston Store building in downtown Erie. WJET has a power of 1,000 watts. The transmitter is at the intersection of East 18th Street and Ash Street in the city of Erie. WGRP
WGRP (940 AM) is a licensed Class D radio station broadcasting from Greenville, Pennsylvania. WGRP broadcasts full-time. However, it only sends out 2 watts in the nighttime hours, in order to protect a Canadian and Mexican clear-channel (940 AM) which is reserved by international treaty. The Canadian Class A station is no longer on the air; the Mexican station is XEQ in Mexico City. FM Translator WGRP relays programming to an FM translator in order to improve coverage, especially at night when the AM frequency broadcasts with only 2 watts. The FM frequency also gives improved high fidelity stereophonic sound. Local Marketing Agreement
In North American broadcasting, a local marketing agreement (LMA), or local management agreement, is a contract in which one company agrees to operate a radio or television station owned by another party. In essence, it is a sort of lease or time-buy. Under Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, a local marketing agreement must give the company operating the station (the "senior" partner) under the agreement control over the entire facilities of the station, including the finances, personnel and programming of the station. Its original licensee (the "junior" partner) still remains legally responsible for the station and its operations, such as compliance with relevant regulations regarding content. Air America (formerly Air America Radio and Air America Media) was an radio in the United States, American radio network specializing in progressive talk radio. It was on the air from March 2004 to January 2010. The network was founded as a left wing alternative to counter talk radio with a right wing perspective. Air America featured programs with monologues by on-air personalities, guest interviews, call-ins from listeners, and news reports. Several shows had million plus audiences, and multiple weekday presenters continued on in radio, television, or politics after their time on Air America. Lordstown, Ohio
Lordstown is a village in southern Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,332 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. Lordstown is best known as the home of the Lordstown Assembly, a General Motors automotive plant that produced compact cars from 1966 until 2019. After the closure of Youngstown's steel factories, the Lordstown Assembly became the largest industrial employer of the Mahoning Valley region. The factory is currently owned by Foxconn for the production of Lordstown Motors vehicles. GM and LG Chem have built a 30 GWh EV battery factory in the town, Ultium Cells LLC, which is scheduled to begin production in August 2022. The Lordstown Complex is a factory building and automotive manufacturing plant in Lordstown, Ohio, U.S. Lordstown is an industrial suburb of Youngstown, Ohio. It was a General Motors automobile factory from 1966 to 2019, comprising three facilities: Vehicle Assembly, Metal Center, and Paint Shop. Lordstown was opened to build compact cars for Chevrolet, the Vega/Monza, Cavalier, Cobalt, Cruze, and their rebadged variants, mostly for Pontiac. The plant also built the Chevrolet van and its GMC (automobile), GMC variant (Handi-Bus/Handi-Van, Rally Van and Vandura) until 1995. Dick Biondi
Richard O. Biondi (born September 13, 1932) is an American Top 40 and Oldies disc jockey. Calling himself The Wild I-tralian, he was one of the original "screamers," known for his screaming delivery as well as wild antics on the air and off. In a 1988 interview, Biondi said he had been fired 23 times, with both fits of temper and jokes gone wrong part of the tally. Over many years and many frequencies, Dick's closing line was, "God bless, bye, bye, Duke. Thanks a million for dialing our way." Biondi gained national attention in the 1950s and 1960s as a disc jockey on leading AM radio stations in Buffalo, New York; Chicago, Illinois; and Los Angeles, California.
