WCYT (91.1 FM) is a Non-profit educational radio station broadcasting an Indie format. Licensed to Lafayette Township, Indiana, United States, the station serves the Fort Wayne area. The station is currently owned by Southwest Allen County Schools. Studios are located at Homestead Senior High School. Students enrolled in broadcasting classes during the school day are in charge of running the station during school hours. Students can also host after-school radio shows as well as call Homestead High School Athletic events for those interested in learning about sports broadcasting. History Founded in 1995 under the name Y91. In the 1995–1996 school year it went on the air. It quickly became the first high school radio station with a website. Homestead Senior High School, in Fort Wayne, United States, is a public four-year high school. Part of Southwest Allen County Schools, the school receives accreditation from the Indiana Department of Education and the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Activities Media at Homestead Homestead High School Media is the school's student-run, not-for-profit YouTube channel dedicated to both its school news program, HHS In Depth, and its sports/school activity broadcasting program, Homestead Live. The oldest extant high school AM radio station is AM 1450 KBPS in Portland, Oregon. Portland radio station KBPS, first licensed in 1923, is the second oldest radio station overall in the city of Portland. The student body of Benson Polytechnic High School purchased the transmitter and other equipment from Stubbs Electric in Portland for $1,800. Money for the purchase of the station came from student body funds. On March 23, 1923, the student body of Benson was licensed by the federal government to operate a radio station using 200 watts of power at 834 kilocycles. Metavari
Metavari is an American electronic music project led by Nathaniel David Utesch in Fort Wayne, Indiana. History From 2008-2012, Metavari released two EP's, one full-length, and showcased at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX as a post-rock oriented full band. During this time the band shared the stage with many notable acts in the post-rock genre including This Will Destroy You, Maserati, Tortoise, The Appleseed Cast, Lymbyc Systym and other indie groups such as Bear In Heaven, Anamanaguchi and Titus Andronicus. Metavari launched a Kickstarter in 2012 to fund the release of their sophomore full-length. The record was eventually materialized in 2015 with Nathaniel David Utesch as primary composer and producer, saw their departure from the post-rock genre, and was Metavari's debut as an electronic music project. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (RRHOF), sometimes simply referred to as the Rock Hall, is a museum and hall of fame located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States, on the shore of Lake Erie.
