WCVJ
WCVJ (90.9 FM) is a non-commercial radio station located in Jefferson, Ohio. It is owned by Educational Media Foundation and airs EMF's Air1 nationally syndicated Christian worship format. History WCVJ went on the air in 1978. The station was locally owned and operated by Agape School, Inc., headed by Myron J. Hubler. WCVJ transmitted 5,500 watts ERP with an antenna height of 372 feet. For many years, WCVJ signed on the air at 6AM and signed off at 10PM. The station was off the air on Sundays. The hymn "Victory in Jesus" played each morning at sign-on. The station's operating parameters, studio address and mailing address was announced during the song. A prayer conducted by the morning DJ immediately followed. Right before sign-off, the evening DJ would say a prayer at the conclusion of the broadcast day, followed by the national anthem. Jefferson, Ohio
Jefferson is a village in and the county seat of Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,226 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Ashtabula micropolitan area, northeast of Cleveland. Modern-day Jefferson sports the world's only perambulator museum and a historical complex including several restored 19th-century buildings. Joshua Giddings' law office has also been restored as a museum. Annual village events include the Ashtabula County Fair, the Strawberry Festival, Jefferson Days, and the Covered Bridge Festival. History Jefferson was officially founded by Gideon Granger, U.S. Postmaster General during Thomas Jefferson's administration, in 1803. Air1 is an American Christian radio, Christian radio network. Owned by the Educational Media Foundation (EMF), it primarily broadcasts contemporary worship music, and is a sister to the EMF's K-Love network. History In 1986, KLRD began broadcasting Christian Hit/Rock music from Yucaipa, California, and went by the on-air moniker K-LORD. In 1994, KLXD, KXRD was started as a sister station to KLRD. In 1995, K-LORD changed its name to "Air1" and began broadcasting via satellite from St. Helens, Oregon. In 1999, Air1 joined with EMF Broadcasting, and finally in 2002, it moved its headquarters to Rocklin, California.
