The Rock Radio Network
The Rock Radio Network is a 6-station AM and FM radio network out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It broadcasts Christian biblical teaching in a bilingual format. The Rock consists of the stations WBMJ / W258DT in San Juan, WIVV / W280GC in Vieques, and WCGB / W293DP in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico. Licensed to Vieques, Puerto Rico, it serves part of Puerto Rico, large areas of the US Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and the Lesser Antilles. WCGB (1060 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Religious format as part of The Rock Radio Network. Licensed to Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, it serves the Puerto Rico area. The station is currently owned by Calvary Evangelistic Mission, Inc. and features programming from Salem Radio Network. History WCGB (AM-1060) was founded in 1967 by Grace Broadcasters, Inc. WKAQ (580 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Currently owned by Hemisphere Media Group, the station airs a Spanish language talk radio format. Its programming is repeated on WUKQ, which broadcasts on 1420 kHz in Ponce, and WYEL which broadcasts on 600 kHz in Mayagüez. The station was the first radio station to broadcast in Puerto Rico. According to Ernesto Vigoreaux, in the early days of music in Puerto Rico, the musicians would record music ''at'' the WKAQ radio station. WKAQ is the Puerto Rico primary entry point station for the Emergency Alert System. Gerald "Jerry" Masucci (October 7, 1934 – December 21, 1997) was an American attorney, businessman and was co-founder of Fania Records. Biography Masucci was born in Brooklyn, New York to Italian immigrant parents Urbano and Elvira Masucci. He was a police officer in New York City before attending, and during law school.
