WBHV-FM (94.5 MHz) is a radio station licensed to serve State College, Pennsylvania. The station is owned by Kristin Cantrell's Seven Mountains Media, through licensee Southern Belle, LLC. The Program Director is Angela Steco. History In 1987, WBHV was born as a Rock-40 alternative to WQWK – which aired at that time as a top-40 station. Shortly thereafter, WQWK switched back to its "QWK Rock" format and B103 moved into the top-40 niche in State College, Pennsylvania. During the 1980s and 1990s, the station was generally referred to as B-103 (The Beaver), as its prior frequency was at 103.1 FM, where WAPY is currently broadcasting from. WLEJ
WWJL (98.7 FM) is a radio station located in Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania. History of the Mill Hall/Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania 98.7 frequency 98.7 was originally licensed to Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, as WZRZ in December 1995. Engineer Jack (Jay) Kennedy found this available frequency and put it on the air, playing an assortment of formats. In 1997, Sabatino Cupelli purchased the license. Later on, the station was sold to Forever Broadcasting and the community of license was changed to Pleasant Gap. The station adopted the call letters WLTS-FM in late 2000. During Forever's ownership, the station carried several formats including smooth jazz format under the calls WOJZ, adult rock as WQWK and country as WSGY, a repeater of Froggy 98 from Altoona, Pennsylvania. 98.7 was sold to 2510 Associates who also operated State College stations WBHV-FM (B94.5) and WOWY 97.1. 2510 broadcast a soft AC format programmed by Nick Ferrara using the handle 98.7 Wish-FM and the call letters WWSH. WRSC (AM)
WRSC (1390 kHz) is a Top 40 (CHR) radio station broadcasting in State College, Pennsylvania with a power of 2,000 watts daytime, and 1,000 watts nighttime. The "RSC" stands for "Radio State College". WRSC moved its talk programming on 1390 AM to 103.1 FM on Monday, August 3, 2009 and is known as "Newsradio 103 WRSC." The AM station switched to a business news/talk format branded as "Money Talk 1390". On January 4, 2023, as part of the 7 Mountains Media buyout, WRSC was moved to 95.3MHz FM. On November 18, 2013 WRSC changed their format to sports, branded as "1390 The Fanatic". On May 20, 2015 WRSC flipped back to news/talk as "Newsradio 1390 WRSC". WGJC (97.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting from University Park, Pennsylvania. The owner is Jim Loftus of Covenant Communications, which also owns WBHV, WLEJ and WZWW. WZWW
WRSC-FM (95.3 MHz) is a radio station licensed to Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, serving the State College area. It currently airs a news/talk format. History When State College's radio station formats shuffled in 2004, WZWW was one of the few FM stations that maintained its frequency. When the bars in State College tried to promote their respective businesses, they were confused as to which stations to hire. On September 4, 2020, at 2PM, after teasing a relaunch with construction noises between songs the previous day, WZWW shifted from Adult Contemporary to Hot Adult Contemporary, keeping the "3WZ" name. The first song after the relaunch was "Good as Hell" by Lizzo. On December 20, 2022, it was announced that the format and branding would move to WMAJ within the following days and would be replaced by the news/talk format heard on WRSC. WHUN (1150 AM) is a classic hits station serving the Huntingdon, Pennsylvania area. As of June 28, 2018, the station is known as "97.7 103.1 103.5 WOWY, simulcasting WAPY 103.1 FM State College and WHUN-FM 103.5 Huntingdon. WHUN is owned by Kristin Cantrell and the broadcast license is held by Southern Belle, LLC. History WHUN began as WHUN in 1947, and among its original personnel was Cary H. Simpson, who assisted in building the station and would later build a series of his own stations in central and northern Pennsylvania. For many years, WHUN's ownership would be relatively unchanged, with the station and its FM sister, WLAK (103.5 FM), which would come on the air years later, staying in the Biddle and McMeen families until the stations were sold in the mid-1990s to BARDCOM of Mount Union, Pa. WAPY (103.1 FM) is a classic hits station in State College, Pennsylvania operating with a power of 370 watts. Programming Until May 20, 2015, WAPY carried many nationally syndicated shows such as, Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, America in the Morning with Jim Bohannon, The Glenn Beck Program, The Dave Ramsey Show, The Sean Hannity Show, The Michael Savage Show, The Mark Levin Show, The Jerry Doyle Show, The Clark Howard Show, and Live on Sunday Night with Bill Cunningham.
