WBC CSKA Moscow
WBC CSKA Moscow was a Russian women's basketball team from Moscow. The club was competing in the Russian Premier League and FIBA Europe's Euroleague and was one of most successful clubs of the country. In 2009 CSKA was disbanded due to financial problems. History It represented sports society CSKA Moscow. CSKA was one of the most successful Soviet teams in the 1980s, winning two Ronchetti Cups and two Soviet Championships, and reaching the European Cup's final in 1990. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union the team dominated the new Russian Superleague for much of the 1990s, winning six championships between 1992 and 1997 and a third Ronchetti Cup. However, it declined in the late 1990s and was disbanded in 2001. Russian Women's Basketball Premier League
The Russian Women's Basketball Premier League is the premier women's basketball competition in Russia. The category consists of 11 teams playing a total of 20 rounds. At the end of the regular season the top eight teams play the play-offs throughout April, ending in a 5 matches final. UMMC Ekaterinburg is the most successful team in the championship with 15 titles, including a record 13-year winning streak. Defunct team CSKA Moscow, later relocated to Samara as VBM-SGAU Samara (9), Dynamo Moscow (4) and Spartak Moscow Region (2) follow in the palmares. Thanks to large number of foreign players, WBPL teams have been successful in the Euroleague since the 2000s, with Spartak Moscow Region winning 4 titles in a row (a competition record since 1976), UMMC Ekaterinburg winning 6 titles, and VBM-SGAU Samara and Dynamo Kursk one each. Kathryn Elizabeth Douglas (born May 7, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player. Her primary position was shooting guard, her secondary was small forward. She was known league-wide as one of the most prominent two-way players for her long-range shooting and high scoring abilities on offense as well as her defensive abilities. In the WNBA, she has been a multiple time WNBA All-Star and has been a selection to both the All-WNBA Team and WNBA All-Defensive First Team. She won WNBA Championship with the Indiana Fever in 2012.
