WAUH (102.3 FM broadcasting, FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits format. Licensed to Wautoma, Wisconsin, United States, the station is currently owned by Hometown Broadcasting, LLC. The transmitter is located west of Redgranite, Wisconsin, Redgranite. WAUH programming was simulcast on WISS (AM), WISS on 1100 kHz and FM translator W252DR on 98.3 MHz until they were acquired by Civic Media LLC in September 2022. History Since 2001 WAUH "The Bug" has been locally owned and operated by Hometown Broadcasting. WAUH was built by the local Boyson family in Wautoma early in the year 2000 under low power until roughly mid 2001 when they went to 5,300 watts. WISS (1100 kHz) or Oshkosh Air Support is an American AM radio station broadcasting a progressive talk format featuring local news and information as well as statewide programming originating from the Civic Media network. It is licensed to Berlin, Wisconsin, United States, and serves central Wisconsin and the Fox Valley. It used to operate at 1090 kHz. The station is owned by Civic Media LLC, which acquired the station in 2022. WISS changed its music format from classic country to soft oldies on February 2, 2009. Artists heard as part of the new format, according to the station's website, include The Beatles, Carpenters, The Supremes, Barry Manilow, Anne Murray, Frank Sinatra, Kenny Rogers, and Neil Diamond. Wautoma, Wisconsin
Wautoma is a city in Waushara County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,218 at the 2010 census. Wautoma is the county seat of Waushara County. The city consists of three noncontiguous areas: one is entirely within the Town of Wautoma, the second is entirely within the Town of Dakota, and the third straddles the boundary between the two towns. Wautoma calls itself the "Christmas tree capital of the world". The Kirk Company of Tacoma, Washington, operated the "Wautoma plantation" of more than of Christmas trees, beginning in 1953.
