WANF-LD
WANF-LD (channel 32) is a low-power television station in Dyersburg, Tennessee, United States. Owned by Gray Television, it is a translator of WMC-TV (channel 5), the NBC affiliate in Memphis. The transmitter is located on Perciful Road off SR 182 near the I-155/US 412 interchange west of Dyersburg. Prior to 2020, the station broadcast to Jackson, Tennessee, which remained its nominal city of license until January 2023, on channel 20. It carried national digital multicast networks. Gray acquired it from HC2 Holdings in 2020 and relocated it away from Jackson due to interference issues and to reduce the loss area from the planned conversion of WMC-TV to the UHF band in Dyersburg. WMC-TV (channel 5) is a television station in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Gray Television. Its studios are located on Union Avenue in midtown Memphis, and its transmitter is located in northeast Memphis, near the suburb of Bartlett, Tennessee. History The station first signed on the air on November 13, 1948, as WMCT, initially transmitting on VHF channel 4. WMCT was also the first television station in the state of Tennessee. This first transmission coincided with being the first football game telecast in Tennessee—the tenth meeting at Crump Stadium between Tennessee and Ole Miss. WJKT (channel 16) is a television station in Jackson, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with the Fox network and owned by Nexstar Media Group. Its advertising sales office is located on Oil Well Road in Jackson, and its transmitter is located in Alamo, Tennessee. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings, and maintains a transmitter on Radio Road on Jackson's north side. Despite similar call letters, the television station is not related to Trenton-licensed radio station WYJJ (97.7 FM) in any way or form.
