''Wushu'' (), or ''Kung fu'', is a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as a full-contact combat sport. It has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. It was developed in 1949 in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts, yet attempts to structure the various decentralized martial arts traditions date back earlier, when the Central Guoshu Institute was established at Nanking in 1928. "''Wushu''" is the Chinese term for "martial arts" (武 "Wu" = combat or martial, 術 "Shu" = art). The 2021 Southeast Asian Games ( vi, Đại hội Thể thao Đông Nam Á 2021, lit=2021 Southeast Asian Sport Assembly), officially known as the 31st Southeast Asian Games, 31st SEA Games or SEA Games 31, and also recognized as Viet Nam 2021, was the 31st edition of the Southeast Asian Games, the biennial regional multi-sport event which was held in Hanoi, Vietnam and its surrounding cities from 12 to 23 May 2022. Originally planned to take place from 21 November to 2 December 2021, it was eventually rescheduled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam. Featuring 526 events in 40 different sports, being that the majority were in the Olympic program, contrary to what had happened on, previous edition. Jowen Lim Si Wei (; born: January 6, 1999) is a Singaporean wushu taolu athlete. Career Junior Lim started practicing wushu at the age of six. Between 2010 and 2014 he made three appearances at the World Junior Wushu Championships and became a two-time world junior champion. Lim also competed twice at the Asian Junior Wushu Championships and is a one-time Asian junior champion. Senior Lim competed in the 2016 Asian Wushu Championships in Taoyuan and was a silver medalist in daoshu and a bronze medalist in duilian. Phạm Quốc Khánh (born 2 September 1990) is a wushu athlete from Vietnam. Career Khánh's first major international victory was at the 2006 Asian Games, where he won the silver medal in men's nanquan. A year later, he became the world champion in nanquan at the 2007 World Wushu Championships. He also won the silver medal in nanquan at the 2007 Southeast Asian Games. Two years later, he competed in the 2009 Southeast Asian Games and was able to win the gold medal in nanquan. Almost a year later at the 2010 Asian Games, he won the bronze medal in men's nanquan. Dương Thúy Vi (born May 11, 1993) is a wushu taolu athlete from Vietnam. She is one of the most renowned Southeast Asian athletes of all time, having won numerous medals at the World Wushu Championships, Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games, and the Asian Wushu Championships. Early life Thúy Vi was born to a father who practiced shaolinquan and a mother who was a wing chun fighter, and started training in the martial arts under her parents at the age of three. Early life and education Agatha Chrystenzen Fernandez Wong was born on May 20, 1998, in Quezon City, Philippines, tracing her roots to Dagupan, Pangasinan. Her father, Christopher Wong Sr. is Filipino-Chinese, while her mother, Richa Agatha Wong (née Fernandez) is Filipino-American. Wong also has a younger brother and sister. At a young age, she was encouraged to try various sports including swimming, karate, and wushu.
