Wu Zhen (historian)
Wu Zhen ( 11th century), courtesy name Tingzhen, was a Song dynasty historian from Chengdu who wrote 2 books enumerating mistakes found in ''New Book of Tang'' and ''Historical Records of the Five Dynasties'', both history books by Ouyang Xiu (Ouyang had several co-authors with ''New Book of Tang''). As pointed out in the 18th-century '' Siku Quanshu'', Wu Zhen was "inclined to criticise for the sake of criticism". Works Although he apparently wrote other works (including a monograph on the Five Dynasties period Later Liang dynasty), Wu Zhen's only 2 surviving books are: *''Xin Tang Shu Jiumiu'' (新唐書紏謬; "Correcting Mistakes in the ''New Book of Tang''"), published in 1089, in 20 chapters. It enumerated 400 mistakes of the ''New Book of Tang''. *''Wudai Shiji Zuanwu'' (五代史記纂誤; "Compendium of Errors in the ''Historical Records of the Five Dynasties''"), published 1090, in 3 chapters, later lost but partly recovered in the 18th century. Wu Zhen (painter)
Wu Zhen () (1280–1354 C.E.) was a Chinese painter during the Yuan Dynasty. He was best known for being one of the Four Masters of the Yuan. Biography He was born in Weitang (now known as Chengguan). Most of his family is unknown. Zhen graduated being educated in philosophy and swordsmanship. Shortly after his graduation, he chose to become a painter. His paintings did not sell well, but he had close friends who taught him how to paint, including Wu Guan, Zhang Guan, and Tao Zhongyi. Artworks Many of Zhen's artworks were landscape paintings and paintings of bamboo. He also occasionally inserted poems into his artworks, which also helped him become better at calligraphy, poetry and artwork simultaneously. Wu Zhen (; born May 1958) is a former Chinese politician who served as the Deputy Commissioner of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the deputy director of the China Food and Drug Administration. He was dismissed from his position in August 2018 and placed under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission. Career Wu was born in May 1958, and he was graduated from Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1983. He served as the officer of the Medical Education Science and Technology Department of the Health Department of Jiangxi, the director of the Drug Administration of the Health Department of Jiangxi, and the director of the Jiangxi Food and Drug Administration.
