Corban Joel Wroe (born 30 September 1992) is an Australian basketball player for the Warwick Senators of the NBL1 West. He played four seasons of college basketball in the United States for the Hartford Hawks before spending two seasons as a development player with the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL). Early in his career, he was compared to fellow former Perth Wildcats guard Brad Robbins. Early life and career Born in Townsville, Queensland, Wroe moved to Brisbane as a youth and spent 2005 to 2008 attending Southern Cross Catholic College. James Wroe
James Wroe (1788–1844), was the only editor of the radical reformist newspaper the ''Manchester Observer'', the journalist who named the incident known as the Peterloo massacre, and the writer of pamphlets as a result that brought about the Reform Act 1832. Early life Wroe was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Trained as a Wool combing machine, woolcomber, after moving to Manchester he became involved in local politics. ''Manchester Observer'' In 1818 Wroe, John Knight, Joseph Johnson and John Saxton formed the ''Manchester Observer''. With Wroe as its editor, it pioneered radicalist popularist articles, and within twelve months was selling 4,000 copies per week to its local audience. John Wroe
John Wroe (19 September 1782 – 5 February 1863) was a British evangelist who founded the Christian Israelite Church in the 1820s after having what he believed were a series of visions. Biography Wroe was born, on 19 September 1782, in the village of East Bowling, near Bradford, West Yorkshire to a worsted manufacturer and farmer, and baptised in the town. After a rather scanty education, he entered his father's business, but later took a farm. He married and brought up a family of seven children. In 1819 Wroe became ill with a fever and two doctors who attended him considered his life was in serious danger. Wroe asked for a minister to come and pray with him. Although his wife sent for four church ministers, each refused his request. Wroe then asked his wife to read a few chapters of the Bible to him, and after a while, he gradually recovered his bodily health, but his mental distress continued and he "wrestled with God" day and night for some months. Nicholas "Nicky" Wroe (born 28 September 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder, most recently for Boston United. Richard Wroe
Richard Wroe (1641–1717), was warden of Manchester church, and so eloquent that he was called "silver tongued Wroe". Life He was educated at the Bury Grammar School and at Jesus College, Cambridge, which he entered in June 1658. He graduated B.A. in 1661, M.A. in 1665, B.D. in 1672, and D.D. in 1686; and was incorporated M.A. of Oxford University in May 1669. Through the influence of Lord Delamere (afterwards Earl of Warrington) he obtained in 1672 a royal mandate for the next presentation to a fellowship of the college at Manchester. He was admitted in February 1674–5. His next promotion was to a prebendal stall in Chester Cathedral in March 1677–8.
