Wrestling At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's Greco-Roman 85 Kg
Men's Greco-Roman 85 kilograms competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took place on 15 August at the Carioca Arena 2 in Barra da Tijuca. This Greco-Roman wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. The two finalists face off for gold and silver medals. Each wrestler who loses to one of the two finalists moves into the repechage, culminating in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers each facing the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket. The medals for the competition were presented by Sir Austin L. Sealy, KT, International Olympic Committee, IOC member, Barbados, and the gifts were presented by Stanley Dziedzic, Vice President of United World Wrestling, UWW. Carioca Arena 2 (Portuguese: ''Arena Carioca 2'') is an indoor stadium in Barra da Tijuca in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The venue hosted judo at the 2016 Summer Olympics, judo and wrestling at the 2016 Summer Olympics as well as boccia at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Janarbek Kenjeev (also ''Zhanarbek Kenzheyev'', russian: Жанарбек Кенжеев; born August 5, 1985, in Talas) is an amateur Kyrgyz Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's light heavyweight category. Considered one of Asia's top wrestlers in his decade, Kenjeev has collected a total of five medals at the Asian Championships, picked up two bronze in the 84-kg division at the Asian Games (2006 and 2010), and also represented his nation Kyrgyzstan, as a 19-year-old teen, at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
