Wrestling is a series of combat sports involving grappling-type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. 2009 SEA Games
The 2009 Southeast Asian Games ( lo, ກີລາພູມິພາກອາຊີຕາເວັນອອກສຽງໃຕ້ 2009, translit. Kila phoumipak asi taven oak siang tai 2009), officially known as the 25th Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event hosted by Vientiane, Laos. This was the first time Laos had held the Southeast Asian Games as Laos had previously declined hosting the 1965 Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, citing financial difficulties. This was also the first time the Southeast Asian Games was held in a landlocked country. The games commemorated 50 years of SEA Games and the main schedule was formally held from 9 to 18 December 2009, with several events had commenced from 2 December 2009. Around 3,100 athletes participated at the event, which featured 372 events in 25 sports. Vientiane ( , ; lo, ວຽງຈັນ, ''Viangchan'', ) is the capital and largest city of Laos. Vientiane is divided administratively into 9 cities with a total area of only approx. 3,920 square kilometres and is located on the banks of the Mekong, close to the Thai border. Eko Roni Saputra
Eko Roni Saputra (born 2 May 1991) is an Indonesian mixed martial artist competing in the Flyweight division of ONE Championship. He trains out of Evolve MMA in Singapore. Saputra is also a former freestyle wrestler who has won bronze and silver medals at the Southeast Asian Games in 2009 and 2013. He has also competed in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta in the 57kg division. Background Saputra grew up in poverty in Samarinda on the island of Borneo. Kritsada Kongsrichai ( th, กฤษดา คงศรีชาย; born 8 August 1991) is a Thai mixed martial artist who most recently fought for ONE Championship, competing in their Strawweight division. He made his ONE debut in 2016. He has also competed for DEEP, making his debut in 2020. Kongsrichai is also a Greco-Roman wrestler who has won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the 2009 Southeast Asian Games and 2013 Southeast Asian Games respectively, in addition to multiple national championships.
