Clement Lindley Wragge
Clement Lindley Wragge (18 September 185210 December 1922) was a meteorologist born in Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England, but moved to Oakamoor, Staffordshire as a child. He set up the Wragge Museum in Stafford following a trip around the world. He was a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and in 1879 was elected Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society in London. To the end of his life, he was interested in theosophy and spiritualism. In 1908, during a tour of India, he met with Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the founder of the Ahmadiyya movement in Islam who had claimed to be the Mahdi, the messianic redeemer awaited by Muslims. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle sought him out in New Zealand to ask for his views on spiritualism before writing ''The Wanderings of a Spiritualist'' in 1921. Christian P. Wragge ( ; born June 19, 1970) is an American news anchor. He is the co-anchor for New York's CBS2's ''News This Morning'' and CBS2's ''News at Noon'', alongside Mary Calvi. He was previously on WCBS's 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts, until he moved to CBS's ''The Early Show'' (nationwide), where he served as morning co-anchor from January 2011 until January 6, 2012, when the broadcast was replaced. Edmund Wragge (1837 – 26 November 1929) was a British-born and trained engineer who constructed the first common-carrier narrow gauge railways in North America. He was invited back to Britain in 1897 to engineer the difficult approaches of the Great Central Railway to a new terminus at London (Marylebone). Ethan Donald Wragge (born October 1, 1990) is an American former basketball player who last played for the Gießen 46ers of Germany's Basketball Bundesliga. Wragge played college basketball at Creighton University. Wragge, a 6'7" small forward from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, played for Creighton from 2009 to 2014. For most of his time there he played with All-American Doug McDermott. As a senior, Wragge was one of the top three-point shooters in the NCAA, finishing the season at 47% from three, good for fifth in the country. Frank Wragge (9 February 1898 – 1973) was an English professional footballer who played as a centre-half for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bristol Rovers, Walsall, and Oakengates football clubs. Standing 6 feet inches tall and weighing 13 stone, he was considered a "giant" and fast for his height. Career Wragge was with Wolverhampton Wanderers for four seasons. He made his Bristol Rovers debut on 10 October 1923, scoring the only goal in his League career on 16 September 1925. He played college football for the New Mexico State Aggies and was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent after the 2002 NFL draft.
