Wouldn't You Like It
''Wouldn't You Like It?'' is the third studio album by the Scottish pop rock group Bay City Rollers. The LP, issued in the UK in late 1975, saw a marked change in the group's musical direction: all the songs save one were the band's own compositions. The one outside-written tune, " Give a Little Love", was a smash UK hit, and the only single released from the album. The album also included, in the form of a giant letter, a free color picture book of the individual members, with a band picture on the front. Seven of the tracks from the album would appear on Arista Records' 1976 US-only album, '' Rock N'Roll Love Letter'' using the same cover photo and artwork. The Bay City Rollers are a Scottish pop rock band known for their worldwide teen idol popularity in the 1970s. They have been called the "tartan teen sensations from Edinburgh" and one of many acts heralded as the "biggest group since the Beatles. The group's line up had many changes over the years, but the classic roster during its peak in popularity included guitarists Eric Faulkner and Stuart Wood, singer Les McKeown, bassist Alan Longmuir, and drummer Derek Longmuir. Colin Michael Frechter (born August 1938) is a musical director, arranger, keyboard player, and vocalist. Biography Frechter attended Aldenham School in Elstree. Career Frechter worked in Harrods before joining the music business in 1958 as a clarinet player for the RAF. After his release from the Air Force in 1961, he worked for T.B. Harms & Francis, Day & Hunter, Inc. as a Musical Director for Page One Records. IBC Studios
The IBC Recording Studios were independent recording studios located at 35 Portland Place in London, England. In the 1960s and 1970s, the studios become internationally famous after being used by recording artists like the Kinks, the Who, Bee Gees, Cream and others. History In 1930, Leonard Plugge established the International Broadcasting Company (IBC) as a commercial rival to the BBC, with IBC's studios utilized for radio production work. In the years following World War II, IBC's work gradually shifted from radio production to music production, and in 1962, Plugge sold the studios to BBC conductor Eric Robinson and musician George Clouston. Eden Studios
Eden Studios was a commercial recording facility in west London. It opened in 1967, originally at 11 Eden Street in Kingston upon Thames (now under the Eden Walk shopping centre), before moving to 20-24 Beaumont Road in Chiswick in 1972. It was started by Philip Love, Mike Gardner and Piers Ford-Crush. Love and Gardner owned the studio and worked there as financial and technical directors, respectively. Ford-Crush retired in 1998. The studio closed in July 2007 and the Chiswick site was demolished for housing. Stuart Wood (musician)
Stuart John “Woody” Wood (born 25 February 1957), is a Scottish musician, songwriter and producer. Career Wood is best known as the guitarist for the 1970s band the Bay City Rollers since joining in 1974. During the 1970s, the Bay City Rollers would garner immense popularity, which would be nicknamed Rollermania (the name inspired by that of Beatlemania. Bay City Rollers original members, Derek Longmuir, Alan Longmuir, Les McKeown and Eric Faulkner, have all left the band at certain points from the early 1980s to 2016, leaving Wood as the only member from the classic era still touring as the Bay City Rollers. He remains active with his new generation Bay City Rollers and also behind the scenes in the music industry, producing music through The Music Kitchen. The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units. Charts are published every Tuesday in Oricon Style and on Oricon's official website. Kent Music Report
The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts. Before the Kent Report, ''Go-Set'' magazine published weekly Top-40 Singles from 1966, and Album charts from 1970 until the magazine's demise in August 1974.
