World Of Wonders (novel)
''World of Wonders'' is the third novel in Robertson Davies's The Deptford Trilogy, Deptford Trilogy. First published by Macmillan of Canada in 1975 in literature, 1975, this novel focuses on the life-story of the fictional magic (illusion), conjuror Magnus Eisengrim. Plot Magnus Eisengrim (also known by at least four other names throughout the trilogy) tells the story of his life to a group of filmmakers who are producing a biographical film about the great magician Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin for the BBC. They are headed by the world-famous Swedish director Jurgen Lind (evidently modeled on Ingmar Bergman). Also present during the story are Eisengrim's friends Dunstan Ramsay and Liesl, who both appear in the earlier installments of the Deptford Trilogy. Ramsay reprises the role of narrator which he played in the first novel, ''Fifth Business'', but in this case it is only to add context and continuity to the internal narration of Eisengrim. World Of Wonders (album)
''World of Wonders'' is the fifteenth full-length album by Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn. The album was released in 1986 by True North Records. A video for "Call it Democracy" was produced, and received a moderate amount of airplay on MTV. Reception In a retrospective review, Allmusic critic Brett Hartenbach wrote the album, "Whereas that record's best moments centered around his time in Central America, World of Wonders takes you across the globe, through Berlin, Chile, parts of the Caribbean, and North America. Along the way, Cockburn, who has always been intrigued by life's contradictions, is both "dazzled... at this world of wonders" and troubled, "...when life isn't so sweet." Bruce Cockburn is a complex artist writing about complex times, and World of Wonders does a good job of capturing that." Track listing All songs written by Bruce Cockburn. #"Call it Democracy" – 3:50 #"Lily of the Midnight Sky" – 4:44 #"World of Wonders" – 4:45 #"Berlin Tonight" – 7 ...

Worlds Of Wonder (game)
''Worlds of Wonder'' is a multi-genre set of three role-playing games (RPGs) produced by Chaosium in 1982 that all used the Basic Role-Playing set of rules. Description Chaosium, like other early RPG publishers, created several games in different genres, each with its own set of rules for character generation, combat, etc. Characters from one game couldn't be exported to another game without a complete overhaul of abilities, skills, weapons and equipment. In 1980, in an effort to create a standardized rule system, Chaosium published a generic game system called ''Basic Role-Playing'' (''BRP''). In 1982, Chaosium published ''Worlds of Wonder'', a collection of three RPGs that all used BRP as their rules system. It was the industry's first multi-RPG product that would work with the same set of rules. Characters from one RPG could be shifted to the other RPGs with minimal adjustments. Components The game came as a boxed set that contained: * a 16-page booklet ''Basic Role-Playin ...

Worlds Of Wonder (toy Company)
Worlds of Wonder (WoW) was an American toy company founded in 1985 by former Atari sales president Don Kingsborough, and former Atari employee Mark Robert Goldberg. Its founding was inspired by a prototype that became its launch product, Teddy Ruxpin. In 1986, it launched Lazer Tag and filed an IPO which ''Fortune'' magazine called "one of the year's most sought after stock sales". WoW partnered with the young Nintendo of America as retail sales distributor, crucial to the landmark launch and rise of the Nintendo Entertainment System from 1986 to 1987. Still in the wake of the disastrous video game crash of 1983, WoW leveraged its own hit toys to issue ultimatums to coerce the retail industry to buy the NES, and Nintendo used the breakthrough success of the NES to resurrect the failed American video game market. Nintendo capped WoW's windfall sales commissions for the NES at $1 million per year per sales staff. In 1987, WoW's success had diminished due to several factors, includ ...
