World Of Trouble (horse)
World of Trouble (foaled March 23, 2015) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2019 Jaipur Invitational Stakes. Career World of Trouble's first race was on August 10, 2017, at Gulfstream Park, which he won. He won a series of races in 2018. He captured the Pasco Stakes on January 20. In August, he won the Quick Call Stakes, then won the Allied Forces Stakes in September. He then won the Marion Country Florida Sire Stakes in December to finish off 2018. World of Trouble began a four-race win streak in January 2019. He won the Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint Stakes on January 26. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Although the word ''thoroughbred'' is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Sol Kumin
Sol Kumin (born 13 May 1975) is an American business leader, Thoroughbred racehorse owner and philanthropist. In May 2018, he became the first owner since 1952 to have both a Kentucky Oaks and a Kentucky Derby winner in the same weekend. He was a co-owner of Justify; winner of the Triple Crown. Early life The oldest of three siblings, Kumin grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts before moving to Boston at the age of 10. He was educated at the Fessenden School before attending St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. He went on to gain a BA in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University. Jason J. Servis (born April 2, 1957) is an American trainer of Thoroughbred racehorses. He is best known for having trained Maximum Security, who finished first in the 2019 Kentucky Derby but was disqualified for interference. He is a brother of trainer John Servis, of Smarty Jones fame. Jaipur Invitational Stakes
The Jaipur Stakes is a Grade I American Thoroughbred horse race for horses aged three years old and older held over a distance of six furlongs on the turf scheduled annually in early June at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The event currently carries a purse of $400,000. History The race is named after Jaipur, the Champion three-year-old colt of 1962 who ran one of the most memorable Travers Stakes on record. The race was run at seven furlongs in 1986 to 2005, and again from 2011 to 2013. All other renewals have been at six furlongs. For three years (1986, 1994, and 1995), it was run in two divisions. In 2013, heavy rain forced the Jaipur to be moved from the turf to the sloppy main track. Because of the move, the stakes race lost its Grade III status for that renewal. Carter Handicap
The Carter Handicap is a Grade I American Thoroughbred horse race for three-years-old and older run over a distance of seven furlongs run annually in early April at Aqueduct Racetrack. Race history First run in 1895, the race was named for Brooklyn contractor and tugboat captain, William Carter, who put up most of the purse money and provided the trophy. The race was hosted by the old Aqueduct race track from 1895 to 1955, except for 1946 when it was held at Belmont Park. It returned to Belmont Park from 1956 to 1959, 1968 to 1974, and again in 1994. The Twin Spires Turf Sprint Stakes is a Grade II American thoroughbred horse race for horses age three and older over a distance of furlongs on the turf held annually in early May on the Kentucky Oaks day meeting at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky during the spring meeting. History The event was inaugurated on 5 May 1995 as the Churchill Downs Turf Sprint Stakes as the sixth race on the undercard of the Kentucky Oaks day meeting over a distance of five furlongs. Southern Halo (1983–2009) was an American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In his racing career he ran twenty-four times, winning five races and finishing second in the Grade I Swaps Stakes and Super Derby. He is chiefly notable for his remarkable career at stud where he was leading sire in Argentina on ten occasions and the sire of 170 stakes winners, including 56 Group/Grade I winners, and 16 champions. Halo (February 7, 1969 – November 28, 2000) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse and an important Champion sire. Background Bred in Kentucky by John R. Gaines, founder of the Breeders Cup, Halo was out of the mare Cosmah (who was the Kentucky Broodmare of the Year in 1974), which made him a half-brother to the Hall of Fame filly Tosmah. His sire was Hail To Reason, the U.S. Champion 2-Year-Old Colt and a great-grandson of the extremely important sire Nearco. Purchased by Charles W. Conquistador Cielo (March 20, 1979 – December 17, 2002) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He is best known for his performances as a three-year-old in 1982 when he won the Belmont Stakes and was voted United States Horse of the Year.
