Mateus Evangelista Cardoso (born 15 February 1994) is a Brazilian Paralympic athlete with cerebral palsy. He competes in several T37-classification athletics events. He represented Brazil at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the silver medal in the men's long jump T37 event. In 2021, he won one the bronze medal in the same event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan. At the 2016 Summer Paralympics, he also finished in 4th place in the men's 100 metres T37 event. Pongsakorn Paeyo (, , ; born 1 December 1996) is a Thai wheelchair racer in the T53 classification. Paeyo represented Thailand at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics. Peter Genyn
Peter Genyn (born 24 December 1976) is a Paralympian sportsman from Belgium. Initially Genyn competed as a wheelchair rugby player before switching to track and field athletics in 2014 where he competes in category T51 sprint events. In 2016 he became the world record holder in the T51 men's 400 metres sprint. Personal history Genyn was born in Brasschaat, Belgium in 1976. In 1990 he jumped into a shallow pond, breaking his neck which resulted in tetraplegia. He has a degree in computer science. Rugby Genyn took up wheelchair rugby shortly after his accident in 1993, and was classified as a 1.5 player. He represented Belgium at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens where the team ended sixth overall. As well as his Paralympic appearance Genyn was also part of the Belgium team at two IWRF World Championships, at Christchurch in 2006 (finishing 8th) and Vancouver in 2010 (7th). Jonathan Peacock MBE (born 28 May 1993) is an English sprint runner... An amputee, Peacock won gold at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics, representing Great Britain in the T44 men's 100 metres event. He won a Bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Biography Peacock was born in Cambridge, and grew up in the village of Shepreth. At age 5, he contracted meningitis, resulting in the disease killing the tissues in his right leg, which was then amputated just below the knee. Wanting to play football, he was directed to a Paralympic sports talent day when he asked about disability sport in the hospital that fitted his prosthetic leg. His mother would carry him to school when his very short stump was too sore to wear his prosthetic leg. Peacock refers to his stump as his "sausage leg."
