Working on Dying is an American producer collective based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was created in 2012. The current members include F1lthy, Oogie Mane, Brandon Finessin, BNYX, Kimchi, FaxOnly, 100yrd, Swaggyono, The Loosie Man & Jarek. History Foundation The collective Working on Dying was founded by F1lthy and his younger brother Oogie Mane. Beginning in 2012, F1lthy began developing production skills on Fruity Loops over a period of six months after being inspired by the then upcoming underground rapper and producer SpaceGhostPurrp and the rap group Metro Zu, both from Miami, Florida. F1lthy later shared his production work with Oogie Mane. Forza, who lived nearby, would skateboard with the brothers in middle school. A sampler is an electronic or digital musical instrument which uses sound recordings (or " samples") of real instrument sounds (e.g., a piano, violin, trumpet, or other synthesizer), excerpts from recorded songs (e.g., a five-second bass guitar riff from a funk song) or found sounds (e.g., sirens and ocean waves). The samples are loaded or recorded by the user or by a manufacturer. WOBC-FM (91.5 FM) is a non-commercial educational radio station licensed to serve Oberlin, Ohio, carrying a mixed freeform and community format. Rapping (also rhyming, spitting, emceeing or MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular". Chopped and screwed (also called screwed and chopped or slowed and throwed) is a music genre and technique of remixing music that involves slowing down the tempo and deejaying. It developed in the Houston hip hop scene in the early 1990s by DJ Screw. The screwed technique involves slowing the tempo of a song down to 60 and 70 quarter-note beats per minute and applying techniques such as skipping beats, record scratching, stop-time and affecting portions of the original composition to create a "chopped-up" version of the song.
