Alex Woodyard
Alexander James Woodyard (born 3 May 1993) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for York City. Career Woodyard started his career in the youth system of Charlton Athletic, but moved to Southend United as a sixteen-year-old in 2010, starting a two-year scholarship. He made his professional debut in December 2010, starting in their 3–1 away loss to Burton Albion in League Two. He had already made three appearances at the age of seventeen and was one of only two players to receive a professional contract from his age group in the summer of 2011. In August 2011, he was sent out on loan to Conference South side Farnborough for an initial month along with George Smith to gain some first team experience. His loan was later extended until the end of November, with Woodyard making thirteen appearances for the club scoring once in a 4–3 win over Basingstoke Town. Harry Woodyard (Illinois Politician)
Harry "Babe" Woodyard (December 3, 1930 – January 31, 1997) was an American politician, businessman, and farmer. Biography Born in Danville, Illinois, Woodyard graduated from Ridge Farm High School, in Ridge Farm, Illinois, and then served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He then went to Illinois Wesleyan University. He was a farmer and businessman. After Jim Edgar resigned his seat in the Illinois House of Representatives, Republican county chairmen of the 53rd District appointed Woodyard to the vacancy. From 1979 until 1986, he served as a Republican in the Illinois House of Representatives, from Chrisman, Illinois. He then served in the Illinois State Senate, from 1986 until his death in 1997. John Robert Woodyard (1904–1981) was an American physicist who made important contributions to the technology of microwave electronics and invented " doping" to improve the performance of semiconductors. Life Born in West Virginia and educated in Washington, Woodyard showed an early enthusiasm for radio telegraphy and trained and worked as a radio operator and technician, at sea and on land. In 1928 he enrolled at the University of Washington to study electrical engineering and graduated in 1932. He then pursued an academic career, eventually arriving at Stanford University to work with Russel and Sigurd F. Varian, W. W. Mark Woodyard
Mark Anthony Woodyard (born December 19, 1978) is an American former professional baseball pitcher, who played three games in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the 2005 Detroit Tigers. He batted and threw right-handed. Woodyard played high school baseball as a pitcher at Mobile County High School in Grand Bay, Alabama. In his senior year, he helped lead the team to the Alabama 4A Baseball Championship. After graduation, Woodyard attended Bethune-Cookman University. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 4th round of the 2000 Major League Baseball draft. In three games, Woodyard pitched in six innings with a 1.50 earned run average (ERA). After becoming a free agent following the 2006 season, Woodyard played for the independent St. George Starzz of the Golden Baseball League and Newark Bears of the Atlantic League in 2007. Sam Woodyard
Sam Woodyard (January 7, 1925 – September 20, 1988) was an American jazz drummer. He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, United States. Woodyard was largely an autodidact on drums and played locally in the Newark, New Jersey area in the 1940s. He performed with Paul Gayten in an R&B group, then played in the early 1950s with Joe Holiday, Roy Eldridge, and Milt Buckner. In 1955, he joined Duke Ellington's orchestra and remained until 1966. After his time with Ellington, Woodyard worked with Ella Fitzgerald, then moved to Los Angeles. In the 1970s, he played less due to health problems, but he recorded with Buddy Rich, and toured with Claude Bolling. In 1983, he belonged to a band with Teddy Wilson, Buddy Tate, and Slam Stewart. His last recording was on Steve Lacy's 1988 album, '' The Door''. He died of cancer in Paris at the age of 63. Wesley Woodyard Jr. (born July 21, 1986) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football for the University of Kentucky and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos in 2008. Woodyard has also played for the Tennessee Titans.
