FA Women's Premier League
The FA Women's National League, formerly WFA National League and FA Women's Premier League (WPL), is a group of six football divisions run by the English Football Association. Founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association, the League included England's top division from 1991 to 2010. The League now sits at step 3 and 4 of the women's football pyramid (below the FA Women's Super League and the Women's Championship). The League's Premier Division/National Division contained England's top women's clubs from 1991–92 until the season 2009–10. During this time, Arsenal Ladies won 12 League titles. Below the National Division was a Northern Division and Southern Division, whose teams could win promotion. The WPL National Division became the country's level 2 division from 2010–11 to 2012–13 and ended in 2013, replaced at level 2 by FA WSL 2, later renamed the Championship. Scottish Women's Premier League
The Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) is the highest level of league competition in women's football in Scotland. Its two divisions are SWPL 1 and SWPL 2. The league was formed when the Premier Division of the Scottish Women's Football League (SWFL) broke away to form the SWPL in 2002. SWPL 2 was introduced in 2016. The divisions contain (in the 2022–23 season) 12 clubs in SWPL 1 and eight in SWPL 2. Glasgow City have won 15 League championships, including 14 in succession from 2007 until 2021. The champions and runners-up of SWPL 1 qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. From 2002, the league was owned and managed by Scottish Women's Football. The Women's Premier League (WPL), currently known as the Deloitte Women's Premier League due to sponsorship reasons with audit firm Deloitte, is the top-flight women's football league in Singapore. It is run by Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and features seven amateur teams. History The WPL started in August 2000 in Singapore. In 2004, in a similar move to S.League, the WPL invited a foreign team to join the league. Guangzhou Sunray Cave from China joined the WPL. In 2019, WPL had 10 teams. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore, WPL was suspended since 2019. On 28 May 2022, WPL resumed competition and started the 2022 season. Competition format Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. The Women's Premier League, also known as the Solrais Women's Premier League due to sponsorship reasons with local rice distributor Solrais, is the top-flight women's football league in the Solomon Islands. History The Solomon Islands Football Federation launched the inaugural season of the Women's Premier League in August 2020 with local rice distributor Solrais as the league's title sponsor amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This the first women's competition of its kind organized by the country's federation which plans a women's national team to regularly compete in competitions in Oceania by 2023 when the league is projected to be on its third season. The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is an amateur women's soccer league in the United States and Canada. It is the top amateur league for women's soccer in the United States soccer pyramid, below only National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The WPSL is the longest-running active women's soccer league as it enters its 23rd season in 2021 – the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The WPSL is also the largest women's soccer league in the United States, North America and the world with 135 active teams. The Adran Premier, currently known as genero Adran Premier (for sponsorship reasons), is the highest level of league competition for women's football in Wales. It is the women's equivalent of the men's Cymru Premier, and it is organized by the Football Association of Wales. As of 2022, the league is ranked 41st overall by the UEFA Women's association club coefficients. The Women's Premier League (WPL) also known as TATA WPL due to sponsorship reasons, is an upcoming women's Twenty20 cricket franchise league in India. It is owned and operated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The first season will be played in March 2023 in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai with five franchises taking part. History The first major women's Twenty20 competition in India was the Women's T20 Challenge. This started as a single-match tournament in 2018, and was expanded to a three-team, three-match competition held in 2019, 2020 and 2022.
