Women's Pan American Junior Championship
The Women's Pan American Junior Championship is a women's international under-21 field hockey tournament organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The tournament has been held since 1988 and serves as a qualification tournament for the Junior World Cup. The tournament has been won by three different teams: Argentina has the most titles with seven, the United States and Canada both have won one title. The most recent edition was held in Santiago, Chile and was won by Canada. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. 2021 Women's Junior Pan American Championship
The 2021 Women's Junior Pan American Championship was the 12th edition of the Women's Pan American Junior Championship, the women's international under-21 field hockey championship of the Americas organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The tournament was held alongside the men's tournament at the Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile and was originally scheduled to take place from 30 November to 13 December 2020. On 29 May 2020 the Pan American Hockey Federation announced that the tournament was rescheduled and would take place from 12 to 25 April 2021. Later on 15 January, it was announced that the competition would take place from 22 to 28 August 2021. Argentina were the defending champions, winning the 2016 edition.
