Women's Bandy World Championship
The Women's Bandy World Championships is an international sports tournament for women and the premier international competition for women's bandy between bandy-playing nations. The tournament is administrated by the Federation of International Bandy. It is distinct from the Bandy World Cup Women which is a women's club competition, the Bandy World Cup which is a club competition for men, and from the Bandy World Championship which is the premier international bandy competition for men's teams. A Youth Bandy World Championship also exists separately from the women's senior competition and has competitions in both the male and female categories, with the F17 WC tournament representing the youth World Championship in bandy for girls up to 17 years of age. 2004 Women's Bandy World Championship
The Bandy World Championship for women 2004 took place in Lappeenranta, Finland between 18 and 22 February. It was the first World Championship in bandy for women and is officially called the "Women's Bandy World Championship" by english speakers. Five teams took part, and firstly, all teams played in a group series, where all teams played each other once. The four best teams continued to the semi-finals. All matches were 2x30 minutes, apart from the final, which was 2 x 45 minutes. Sweden became world champions, winning their six matches a total of 52-0. In the final-game Sweden defeated Russia, 7-0. 2022 Women's Bandy World Championship
The 2022 tournament was originally to be held in Stockholm, and this was the logo created for it. The 2022 Women's Bandy World Championship was an international bandy tournament for women and the 11th (XI) Women's Bandy World Championship organized by the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The event was contested from 23 to 27 March 2022 in Åby, Sweden. Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Team Russia withdrew from the tournament and although the Ukraine women's national bandy team was scheduled to participate, they had to withdraw. Team Ukraine's appearance was meant to be the Ukrainian women's bandy world debut, almost a century after women's bandy teams were first recorded to have appeared in Kharkiv, Ukraine, in 1927. 2016 Women's Bandy World Championship is held in Roseville, Minnesota, USA, on February 18–21, 2016. The Guidant John Rose Minnesota Oval hosts the games. This is the eighth Women's Bandy World Championship and the second Women's Bandy World Championship hosted by the United States. China made its championship debut.
