My Latest Novel
My Latest Novel are a Scottish indie band, from Greenock & Gourock. The band are signed to Bella Union records and released two albums. Background A five piece, (consisting of Chris Deveney, Gary Deveney, Paul McGeachy Laura McFarlane and Ryan King), My Latest Novel are from the small town of Greenock, near Glasgow in Scotland. They augment the traditional rock line up of guitars, drums, bass and keyboards, with the use of violins, xylophones, samples and undulating percussion, as well as multi-part vocals. The band has toured the UK with Arab Strap, Low, British Sea Power and Joanna Newsom as well as opening for the Pixies at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh. They have also toured the UK and mainland Europe, Australia and U.S independently. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Bella Union
Bella Union is a British independent record label founded in 1997 by Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins. It is now run solely by Raymonde. History After releasing records with 4AD for a large part of their career, Cocteau Twins decided to start up the Bella Union record label in 1997, through which they could release their own work as well as any collaborative efforts. The band split up not long after, but instead of letting the newly formed label go under, Robin Guthrie, Simon Raymonde and their former manager Fiona Glyn-Jones decided to take charge of it. One of the earliest bands to sign on was the Australian trio Dirty Three, who continue to release under Bella Union. Other early signees include Françoiz Breut and The Czars.
