Eddie Wohl
Eddie Wohl is an American composer, music producer, and mixing engineer. As an artist, he was signed to Epic, Elektra and Mercury/Island, and had a production deal with Roadrunner Records. Growing up on the East Coast, Wohl was in his first band at age 15 and signed his first record deal at the age of 25. Wohl's major influences growing up included Black Sabbath, Stevie Wonder, Public Enemy and McCoy Tyner. Coming out of the New York City club/band scene, he has spent many years as a songwriter and producer. In 1999, Wohl, along with his partners, launched the New York-based Scrap 60 Productions, which was responsible for producing acts such as Anthrax, Ill Nino and H2O, among others. Wohl Rose Park
Wohl Rose Park (Hebrew: גן הוורדים, ''Gan HaVradim'') is a public garden in Givat Ram, Jerusalem, located opposite the Knesset and government precinct, at the foot of the Israeli Supreme Court. The park was established in 1981. Over 400 varieties of roses are grown there, many of them gifts from countries around the world. The Wohl Rose Park covers . It is one of the few rose parks of its kind in the Middle East, where there is no rainfall in summer. The park's Garden of Nations is made up of sections donated by other countries. Each section has rose varieties characteristic of, or grown in, the respective country. The Wohl Centre is a convention center on the main campus of Bar-Ilan University in Ramat-Gan, Israel. History Wohl Centre was built between 2001 and 2005 and covers about 42,000 square feet (3,900 square meters). The building, designed by the internationally renowned Daniel Libeskind and a local architecture firm, the Heder Partnership, has been noted for its stark exterior and uncluttered interior. Paul Wohl (1901 – April 2, 1985) was a German-born journalist and political commentator. Background Paul Wohl was born in 1901 in Berlin. Career In 1938, Wohl came to the United States as a correspondent for Czechoslovak newspapers. He worked for the ''Christian Science Monitor'' from 1941 until 1979, when he retired. He also contributed to the '' New York Herald Tribune'', ''The Nation'', ''Barron's'', and '' Commonweal''. In the mid-1920s, Wohl met Soviet spy Walter Krivitsky. Months after Krivitsky defected, Wohl left Europe for the States and became Krivitsky's literary agent. Wohl (and Isaac Don Levine as ghostwriter) helped the non-English-speaking Krivitsky write his memoir ''In Stalin's Secret Service'' (1939). At the time of its publication, they argued about fees owed to Wohl and severed their connection. Maurice Wohl
Maurice Wohl (4 January 1917 – 28 June 2007) was a British businessman and philanthropist. Biography Maurice Wohl was born in the East End of London to Eastern European parents. At a young age, Wohl became a property developer creating 'United Real Property Trust' in 1948. He rose to success by innovation in raising modern office buildings in the damaged post-World War II London and his business also later spread to Australia. By the mid-1970s, he had retired to Switzerland. Wohl was made Commander of Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1992. Wohl died on 28 June 2007 (13th of Tammuz, 5767). He was buried in the Sanhedria Cemetery in Jerusalem the next day, eulogised by former Chief Rabbi of Israel, Yisrael Meir Lau. Mary Ellen Beck Wohl (June 12, 1932 - October 9, 2009) was Chief of the Division of Respiratory Diseases at Children's Hospital Boston (a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School), and served as Associate Director of the General Clinical Research Center until 2002. Since the 1962, when she first joined the staff at Children's Hospital, Wohl specialized in the respiratory diseases of children. Martin Wohl (13 July 1930 – 21 July 2009), was a transportation economist. He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina and grew up in the District of Columbia. During his youth, Wohl worked as a Senate page and was then appointed to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York from North Carolina's 6th congressional district by Democratic congressman Carl T. Durham. He transferred to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served as a first lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers after graduation.
