''Without You I'm Nothing'' is the second record released by comedian and singer Sandra Bernhard. History It was released at the height of her career and is a live performance recording that was issued on double-cassette, compact disc and double-vinyl in 1989; it was later re-released on double-compact disc and made available for sale on Bernhard's own website. The re-release included a second disc of bonus material. Material Bernhard developed the show with Mitch Kaplan, her musical director, and John Boscovich who co-wrote and directed. In an interview, she was quoted as saying “Almost every night, we went out afterwards, dancing, or hung out on Second Avenue. There were a lot more people on the street. Sandra Bernhard
Sandra Bernhard (born June 6, 1955) is an American actress, singer, comedian and author. She first gained attention in the late 1970s with her stand-up comedy, where she often critiqued celebrity culture and political figures. She is perhaps best known for portraying Nancy Bartlett Thomas on the ABC sitcom '' Roseanne'' from the fourth season (1991) to the end of the show in 1997. She played Nurse Judy Kubrak in the FX drama series ''Pose''. She is number 96 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 greatest stand-ups of all time. Timothy Gerard Landers (born November 1, 1956) is an American bassist best known for his contribution to the 1970s-80s jazz-fusion genre and his work with Al Di Meola, Billy Cobham, and Gil Evans. Landers is a session musician and was a member of Tom Scott's band on ''The Pat Sajak Show''. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, Landers has worked with Tracy Chapman, Tori Amos, Crimson Jazz Trio, Lee Ritenour, Dave Grusin, and Loreena McKennitt. Nancy Shanks (–2019) was an American singer. Shanks was the vocalist for the earliest but short-lived lineup of the all-woman band Vixen after changing its name from Genesis (formerly Lemon Pepper), initially playing pop rock. Mitchell Kaplan is an American musician, music director, songwriter, arranger and producer. He is best known as the Music Director for Sandra Bernhard and for alternative comedy company Un-cabaret. He has been featured as musical director in performances with Ana Gasteyer and Cady Huffman. Career Kaplan began his career as a pianist and songwriter, writing songs for artists including Chaka Khan, Thelma Houston, Sister Sledge and Martika.
