''With Light and with Love'' is the eighth studio album by the American band Woods, released on April 15, 2014 on Woodsist. The album is the band's first following the departure of bass guitarist Kevin Morby. The album was followed by a 7" and digital release of two non-album tracks, "Tambourine Light" and the B-side "Tomorrow's Only Yesterday". Critical reception ''With Light and with Love'' received largely positive reviews from contemporary music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 79, based on 19 reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews". Woods (band)
Woods is an American folk rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2005. The band consists of Jeremy Earl (vocals, guitar), Jarvis Taveniere (various instruments, production), Aaron Neveu (drums), Chuck Van Dyck (bass), and Kyle Forester (keyboards, sax). The band's former bassist, Kevin Morby, left the band in 2013. Woods have released 11 albums, the latest being ''Strange to Explain''. Pitchfork Media reviewed one of their previous albums, '' Songs of Shame'', giving the band its "Best New Music" designation and describing the sound as "a distinctive blend of spooky campfire folk, lo-fi rock, homemade tape collages, and other noisy interludes, all anchored by deceptively sturdy melodies." Jonathan Rado
Jonathan Rado is an American musician, record producer and engineer, best known as a multi-instrumentalist in the indie rock duo Foxygen. Rado is a native of Westlake Village, California, where he formed Foxygen with his classmate Sam France in 2005. After releasing four albums with Foxygen, Rado began producing albums for other artists, including The Killers, The Lemon Twigs, Tim Heidecker, Whitney, Alex Cameron, Father John Misty and Weyes Blood. In 2018, ''Billboard'' called Rado "one of indie rock's most in-demand producers". ''Rolling Stone'' called him an "analog fetishist who's become a producer of choice for a particular breed of like-minded indie-pop artists." Rado is married to singer-songwriter Jackie Cohen. Tim Presley
Tim Presley is an American musician, singer and songwriter. Presley began his career playing with the hardcore punk bands Model American and The Nerve Agents. In 2004, Presley founded the psychedelic rock band Darker My Love. In 2006 he joined The Fall, playing on the LP '' Reformation Post TLC'', and was an occasional guest musician on the band's later albums. Since 2010, Presley has released music under the name White Fence. Samara Lubelski is an American singer, violinist, guitarist and bassist. Weighted Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. If all the weights are equal, then the weighted mean is the same as the arithmetic mean. While weighted means generally behave in a similar fashion to arithmetic means, they do have a few counterintuitive properties, as captured for instance in Simpson's paradox. In statistics, the standard score is the number of standard deviations by which the value of a raw score (i.e., an observed value or data point) is above or below the mean value of what is being observed or measured.
