Wish You Were Here (The Ten Tenors Album)
''Wish You Were Here'' is the twelfth studio album from Australian vocal group The Ten Tenors, released in April 2017. The album is a "homage" to many great artists who have deceased. The Ten Tenors say "This isn’t intended to be sombre, rather a celebration of the happiness these people brought to the world. Put simply, to all the lost artists, we wish you were here". In an interview with Today show on 10 April, the band say it was inspired by David Bowie's death. "Nothing Compares 2 U" is a song written and composed by Prince for his side project, The Family; the song featured on their eponymous 1985 debut album. The song features lyrics exploring feelings of longing from the point of view of an abandoned lover. Several years later, Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor recorded a version of the song for her second studio album, ''I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got'' (1990). Jonathan James English (26 March 1949 – 9 March 2016) was an English-born Australian singer, songwriter, musician and actor. He emigrated from England to Australia with his parents in 1961. He was an early vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Sebastian Hardie but left to take on the role of Judas Iscariot in the Australian version of the stage musical ''Jesus Christ Superstar'' from May 1972, which was broadcast on television. George Merrill (born 10 January 1956) is an American songwriter whose work mostly dates from the mid- to late 1980s. He co-wrote "How Will I Know", which was a hit for Whitney Houston in 1986, as well as Houston's 1987 hit " I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)". From the mid- to late 1980s to the present day, Merrill has been one half of vocal duo Boy Meets Girl, who are best remembered for the late-1988 hit " Waiting for a Star to Fall". Michael Hutchence
Michael Kelland John Hutchence (22 January 1960 – 22 November 1997) was an Australian musician, singer-songwriter and actor. Hutchence co-founded the rock band INXS, which sold over 75 million records worldwide and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001.
