Wisconsin's 4th State Senate District
The 4th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within northern Milwaukee County. It comprises part of the city of Milwaukee's north side, as well as the village of Shorewood, the southern half of the city of Glendale, and part of northern Wauwatosa. Current elected officials Lena Taylor is the senator representing the 4th district. She was first elected in the 2004 general election, and is now serving her fifth term. Prior to her election as senator, she was a member of the State Assembly, representing the 18th Assembly district from 2003 to 2005. The 12th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within northwest Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, Milwaukee County. Bertine Pinckney
Bertine B. Pinckney (April 26, 1824December 26, 1909) was an American farmer, surveyor, and politician. He served in the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly, representing Fond du Lac County, and later served in the Kansas House of Representatives. During the American Civil War, he served as a Union Army officer and was colonel of the 20th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment until suffering a stroke in December 1862. His last name is often spelled Pinkney. Biography Born in New York City, he moved to Rosendale, Wisconsin Territory, in 1847. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1850, representing Fond du Lac County's western Assembly district. In 1851, he was elected to represent the 4th State Senate district in 1852, and was redistricted that year to the 20th Senate district, where he served for 1853. Fond du Lac () is a city in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 44,678 at the 2020 census. Sir John Alexander Macdonald (January 10 or 11, 1815 – June 6, 1891) was the first prime minister of Canada, serving from 1867 to 1873 and from 1878 to 1891. Free Soil Party
The Free Soil Party was a short-lived coalition political party in the United States active from 1848 to 1854, when it merged into the Republican Party. The party was largely focused on the single issue of opposing the expansion of slavery into the western territories of the United States. The Free Soil Party formed during the 1848 presidential election, which took place in the aftermath of the Mexican–American War and debates over the extension of slavery into the Mexican Cession. Ceresco, also known as the Wisconsin Phalanx, was a Intentional community, commune founded in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin in 1844 by followers of the communitarianism, communitarian socialist ideas of Charles Fourier. About 180 people lived in the Association at its peak, farming nearly 2,000 acres. Warren Chase
Warren Chase (January 5, 1813 – February 25, 1891) was an American pioneer, reformer, and politician. He served in the state senates of Wisconsin and California, and was a candidate for Governor of Wisconsin in the election of 1849. Early life and education Chase was born in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, on January 5, 1813. He was the son of Susanna Durgin, who was unmarried at the time. His mother was maligned by the community and expelled from the church for giving birth out of wedlock, making it difficult to provide for herself and Warren. Warren's father was Simon Chase, who was married to Huldah Peaslee. Simon Chase fought in the War of 1812 and died at Plattsburgh in the fall of 1814, when Warren was not yet two years old. Winnebago County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 171,730. Its county seat is Oshkosh.
