Wisconsin's 21st State Senate District
The 21st Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Kenosha and Racine counties. The district includes the city of Burlington and part of the city of Racine, as well as the villages of Bristol, Caledonia, Paddock Lake, Pleasant Prairie, Rochester, Salem Lakes, Sturtevant, Twin Lakes, and Union Grove, and the portions of the villages of Mount Pleasant and Somers west of Wisconsin Highway 31. Current elected officials Van H. Wanggaard is the senator representing the 21st district. He was elected to his first term in the 2010 general election, but was removed from office in a recall election in 2012. Twin Lakes, Wisconsin
Twin Lakes is a village in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, United States, along the Illinois-Wisconsin border. The Village of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin is located at the Illinois border east of US Highway 12 in western Kenosha County. Incorporated in 1937, Twin Lakes has enjoyed a long history as the prime home site for Native Americans as well as Settlers who arrived later. With nearly 1000 acres of water, the twin lakes of Mary and Elizabeth have drawn vacationers to numerous resorts as well as ice harvesters in the days of "ice box" refrigeration. Today, while the ice harvesting has ended, many homes in Twin Lakes are used for recreation and the lakes remain a popular destination. Wisconsin's 1st congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in southeastern Wisconsin, covering Kenosha County, Racine County, and most of Walworth County, as well as portions of Rock County, Waukesha County, and Milwaukee County. The district's current Representative is Republican Bryan Steil. Among the district's previous representatives are U.S. Secretary of Defense Les Aspin and Speaker of the House and 2012 Vice Presidential-nominee Paul Ryan. Robin Vos
Robin J. Vos (born July 5, 1968) is an American businessman and Republican politician and the 79th speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly, serving in that role since 2013. He has been a member of the Assembly since 2005, representing most of the southern half of Racine County. Vos is also president of the National Conference of State Legislatures. Vos came to prominence for his role in shepherding legislation to weaken bargaining rights and labor unions in Wisconsin while Scott Walker was governor, which culminated in the 2012 Wisconsin gubernatorial recall election. Robert Otto Wittke Jr. (born September 23, 1957) is an accountant and Republican politician. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for the 62nd district, representing the northern half of Racine County. Biography Born in Racine, Wisconsin, to Robert Wittke Sr. and Margaret Wittke ''née'' Jankowski, Wittke graduated from William Horlick High School in 1975 and received a B.A. in accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire in 1980. Amanda Marie Nedweski (born December 1975) is an American financial analyst and Republican politician from Kenosha County, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 61st Assembly district since January 2023. She is also currently a member of the Kenosha County board of supervisors. The 61st Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district covers most of Kenosha County. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. Wisconsin Highway 31
State Trunk Highway 31 (often called Highway 31, STH-31 or WIS 31) is a state highway in Kenosha and Racine counties in the US state of Wisconsin that runs north–south as a suburban route passing Racine and Kenosha. With the exception of a stretch between Four Mile Road and WIS 32 at the north end, WIS 31 is a multi-lane urban highway. An expansion of the remaining was proposed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
