Winterland
Winterland Ballroom (more commonly known as Winterland Arena or simply Winterland) was an ice skating rink and music venue in San Francisco, California. The arena was located at the corner of Post Street and Steiner Street. It was converted for exclusive use as a music venue in 1971 by concert promoter Bill Graham and became a common performance site for many famous rock artists. Graham later formed a merchandising company called Winterland Productions which sold concert shirts, memorabilia, and official sports team merchandise. Origins The venue was opened on June 29, 1928, as the ''New Dreamland Auditorium''. It served as an ice skating rink that could be converted into a seated entertainment venue. Sometime in the late 1930s the building's name was changed to ''Winterland'', and it successfully operated through the Great Depression. Winterland is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The town is considered to be a bedroom community of Marystown. Climate Winterland has a humid continental climate (Dfb). ''Winterland'' is a posthumous live box set by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Released on September 13, 2011, by Experience Hendrix and Legacy Recordings, the four-disc collection documents the band's six performances at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, California between October 10 and 12, 1968. A single disc "highlights" edition was released the same day. On August 23, 2011, "Like a Rolling Stone" was released as a single, backed with "Spanish Castle Magic". Several of recordings that are included on the box set had been previously released on '' The Jimi Hendrix Concerts'' (1982) and ''Live at Winterland'' (1987). Emma Townshend (born 28 March 1969) is an English writer and journalist, and the elder daughter of The Who's Pete Townshend. She has previously worked as an academic, a musician and in adult education, but since 2006 has been the ''The Independent, Independent on Sunday’s'' garden columnist. ''Journeyman'' is an American science-fiction romance television series created by Kevin Falls for 20th Century Fox Television which aired on the NBC television network. It starred Kevin McKidd as Dan Vasser, a San Francisco reporter who involuntarily travels through time. Alex Graves, who directed the pilot, and Falls served as executive producers. The show premiered on September 24, 2007, airing Mondays at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. The initial order from the network was for 13 episodes, all of which were produced prior to the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike by screenwriters. Unheilig
Unheilig (German for "Unholy") was a German band that featured a variety of influences, including various pop and electronic styles as well as harder, nihilistic hard rock. The band was founded in 1999 and principally consisted of singer Bernd Heinrich "Der Graf" (the Earl) along with various musical partners.
